Regional Productions of Billy Elliot

If you guys live near St.Louis (Missouri) or Ogunquit (Maine) you HAVE to see one of their regional productions of Billy Elliot the Musical! The one in St. Louis will play for one week, the other one for one month and they both have a brilliant cast!

In St. Louis (at Muny theatre) the cast includes Tade Biesinger as Billy, Emily Skinner as Mrs Wilkinson, Patti Perkins as Grandma, Daniel Oreskes as Dad and Maria Knasel as Debbie. ALL of them performed in Billy Elliot before and besides Maria Knasel and Oreskes they all will perform the roles they’ve already played before. This will be a brilliant production for sure!

In Ogunquit (at the Ogunquit Playhouse) the cast includes Noah Parets as Billy, Armand Schultz as Dad, Stephen Hanna as Older Billy and Joel Blum as George who have all played these roles before. In addition to that BT McNicholl, the former Resident Director of the Broadway production, is directing the Ogunquit production. Sounds like this production will be brilliant, too.

[Translation] Billy Elliot was amazing!  It was the first performance after the show won the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award, (Billy) came out with trophy in his hands in the curtain call. Deka-san who played Dad gave us a heartful speech.

[Translation] Today's Billy was different from the boy who performed in the Olivier Awards. I didn't get the chance to take a look at the cast list. So I'm judging this just by Billy's appearance, but I think it was Harrison Dowzell who was performing at the show I saw.

同じく目視確認だけど、Olivier賞のパフォーマンスのBillyはTade Biesinger君。Electricityのダンス、Harrison君とTade君とで全然違ったんだけど、もしかしてBillyによってそれぞれ違うのでしょうか?

[Translation] I'm judging again just by my sight, but I think the boy who played Billy at the Oliviers was Tade Biesinger. Their performance of Electricity was totally different. Is there any chance that the dance for Electricity is unique for every Billy?

[Translation] Tade's performance was very ballet-like, but Harrison's was kind of like a break dance.  Or is it due to the difference of the size of the stage?

レミゼ映画を改めて飛行機の中でみた時に、Killianさんが歌のソロより台詞が多かったことに少し意外さを感じたんだけど、BEの舞台でのTony役はさらにそれに拍車がかかって台詞のお芝居が中心

[Translation] I saw the Les Miz film (AGAIN) in the airplane bound to London. I was surprised that Killian had more spoken lines instead of singing solo ones in the film, but I thought his performance put more focus on the acting rather than the singing further more in BE.

Dad役のDeka Walmsleyさんもそうだけど、割とシリアスな役柄に似合わないコミカルな衣装が、とても似合っていてラブリーでした（笑）
