Stealing this from @llivingnextdoortoalice, because I also like to talk about them books
Rules: Complete the qualities with books you’ve read or want to read (novels, plays, stories, etc.) then tag some friends.
Book I love: I’ll probably just list my all-time faves: Master and Margarita (don’t care how cliche it is), Lord of the Rings, Alice in Wonderland, Solaris
Book I hate: I hated hated hated I am Legend. Also, re-reading the Silmarillion, I was surprised by how angry I am with it? Like, I understand I can’t blame Professor for using the cliches if he invented them, but damn... And don’t even get me started on Melkor.
Book I think is underestimated: anything scientific, probably. Just to list some names, The Brain the Changes itself, A small book about a large memory, The Brain Rules
(upd: Also maybe La Plaie by Natalie Henneberg. It is no masterpiece, but still pretty nice in term of imaginative sci-fi worlds)
Book I think is overvalued: i wish i could caps this: 1984
Book I want to see in a movie version: Children of the Lamp series. Also would love to see a well-done adaptation of a classic ukrainian novel, preferrably something like Тигролови (yes I am aware that one exists but I haven’t seen it so can’t judge the quality)
Last book I read/ in progress: (Нео)сознанное. Как бессознательный ум управляет нашим поведением, The Crow road
Book or saga I want to finish: Song of Ice and Fire, ONCE it’s finished
Book or saga I don’t want to finish: Dexter series, also The Witcher.
Next book: ???? I have a list of 14 books I want to finish till the end of year, so, hopefully, one of them.
The best end: Roadside Picnic.
The worst end: Flowers on the attic, although a pretty good read, left a dirty taste in my mouth.
