#Repost @take3forthesea ・・・ Worldwide over 21 species of odontocetes (toothed whale and dolphins) have been reported to ingest plastic debris. Source: Laist (1997) Recent sightings of the inshore bottle nose dolphin in the Parramatta River has led to a Take 3 schools program 'Project Dolphin' supported by Canada Bay Council being implemented at four schools from this region. Students attended presentations and workshops to create action plans for litter reduction campaigns in their school. Their concerted efforts to engage the school community in becoming proactive in reducing rubbish, create awareness to the rest of the school community and actively become part of the solution was recognized by the Mayor, Helen McCaffrey and noted marine scientist and Take 3 ambassador, Dr Michelle Blewitt.
