“Damn rain is soakin’ right through my clothes.”
“Mine too,” Starling grumbled, glancing over at Jane, then turning to look at Grant, who was bringing up the rear. He looked as miserable and soaked as they did. She called to him, “Haven’t drowned yet have you?”
He looked at her briefly, then held up his middle finger and continued trudging along.
Starling gave a short snort of laughter, and pulled the collar of her coat up around her neck, “Won’t have to put up with it for too much longer. We got a friend with a place close to hear. I’m sure she’ll let us stay til the rain lets up.”
