This post is to all the chatter about sexism and all that jazz. Enjoy!

The truth is this situation is too complex and too broad to be solved by a few people arguing on a social media site where we escape the social injustices handed to us for our mutual love of the sport for what it is and attraction of the players. For women, sport is still something considered a man thing. Society would have us believe that 1. Women can’t play sport as good as men. You see that from how little coverage the mass media gives female sport. And 2. society thinks that women who watch sport can hardly be as knowledgable on it as men and must only watch it or like it because of the male athletes on display. This point here. This societal generalisation is the reason we look like we are objectifying men! Because people think thats the only thing we could like sport for! And in turn we can just as much be called sexists if people hold this belief. (Something I actually cop first hand from a male journalist I know.) Now we all know how much objectification of women still goes on. And in a world where sport is still a “man thing” there are societal views that men only watch womens sport for the assests of the women. What other reason could there be for them to be watching women play sport that men already play! I mean, they can’t be as good at it right? And in turn, you fellas can be looked upon as sexist pigs for doing just this.

This is why this issue can’t be solved. And this is why all of us who love sport are on here. On Tumblr. I’m assuming it’s the same for guys. Is so we can appreciate the sport for how incredible it is. And also go on about the attractive players in a safe environment where we know we won’t be judged. If you guys appreciate the female sport just as much as the women who play it then I certainly would have no problem following you and no problem at all if you wanted to express how sexy you think the female players are. But you have to accept me for the sports fan I am too. Just like you I like the sport for what it is. And just like you I find people that play it attractive.

To break it down, the broad problem is too hard to solve because instead of society creating equality through getting rid of all sexism. It has created a society that has generalised standards that have somehow created equal sexism. Sexism for all. Everyone can be objectified and everyone can be called sexist. But if you can understand me and I can understand you, thats one step closer to fixing society’s screwed views on the world. And thats the world we try to create on here. A world where both sexes can love any sport they like and can love it for any reason they like and not be judged.
