A/N -- Hiiii!!!!! This is my first knha x reader fanfic!! Thought I'd write one with our softest little baby boy Hoshizawa!!! (Hes my favorite little boyyy UwU)
Summary: Y/N is walking down the hall and accidentely runs into Hoshizawa!!! (≧▽≦) I wonder what happens next.... (・o・;)
I was on my way to class (late again!!) and had to run through the hall to get to my next class. I had to carry all my books and folders, but not well because I was in a rush... I was running and suddenly I ran into something... No, someone! "Waah!!" I screamed, falling on the floor and spillinh my books on the ground. "Omo!! I-I'm s-so sorry!!!!" I stammered an apology when I looked up and saw... Hoshizawa?!?!
"Are you okay!!!" Hoshizawa gasped, kneeling down from his tall height of 187cm to help pick up some of my books.
"Waah I'm f-f-fine!!! I'm s-sorry for running into you!!! I-I was in a rush and d-didn't see you--" I mumbled, rushing to pick up my books. My face had to be bright red!
"It's ok. I can help you." Hoshizawa offered sweetly, picking up some of the books. "My name is Hoshizawa. What's your name?"
"M-my name is Y/N!" I squeaked loudly, picking up my books.
"Ah, Y/N...? That's a cute name!!!" He smiled cutely "Do you want to hang out sometime? That would be fun!" (A/N WAAAH SO CUTE!!!!!)
"OMG sure!!!" I said excitedly, my face bright red!! He was so cute!
"Okay, Let's go to class now though. Here, I can give you my number and we can talk later." He smiled.
"Okay!!" I squeaked, fumbling through my pockets for my phone. "H-Here!"
Hoshizawa took the phone, staring for a moment before scratching his head. "Hold on, I forgot..." (A/N Silly Hoshizawa O3O)
"T-that's okay!! I can just give you mine!" I giggled, taking a piece of paper to write down my own number to give him. "There you go!!"
"Okay thank you!" Hoshizawa laughed cheerfully, taking the paper. "We better go to class now! gonna be late!"
"OMG Y-yeah!!!" I yelped in shock. "Bye Hoshizawa!!!!"
"Byebye uhh... I forgot your name...!" Hoshizawa mumbled (A/N So forgetful... Kyaaa!!! baka!!)
"It's Y/N!!" I squeaked back, but now I really had to run to class!

pt 2
The kids didn't like Hoshizawa. They really didn't like him. At all. As... asshole middle schoolers can go, unfortunately. They see some kid who doesn't fit the norm. He looks a bit funny, the way he acts, the way he walks, the way he talks. Everything about this kid was just a red target for attracting the grueling harassment in that school.
Everyone knew his quirk by then too. They were all too familiar. The kid that could still barely even control his own stupid quirk. He'd just fall through the school doors every morning or blind them all during class. At least he'd been suspended for it a few times. He didn't have many friends, most of everyone who cared enough to actually talk to him would be weirded out eventually, and many would just tease him or be mean.
Through it all though, he could usually keep a smile.
He had a couple of friends, at least. Guren, and Ayaka. Of course they knew what was happening. They knew of his situation and tried to do their best to make life at least a little better. They all made their silly little worlds with silly little dragons. They pretended to be dragons and play outside and other little kid things. And it worked. They were his respite, and of course, even being as young as a new middle schooler, a little distance from parents with growing independence was customary.
He'd walk to and from school with them sometimes. Ayaka lived nearby, and Guren was just on the way. They'd help him get around in any way, but he learned to manage his side affects quite well even without peer support. He was eventually very confident in his abilities to get around, and would try to impress them by going further and further just on his own. And eventually, this culminated into walking home all alone.
The first time went fine. He'd walked these roads plenty of times before, only this time now alone. It was a cold and calm day, the coldest months yet to come. He came to his parents that day gleaming with excitement "Mama Mama! I did it myself!" She was proudest of course, though felt it was a story best saved from his father.
The second time was not long after. The day was much colder, and quite a bit wetter. It gave him a headache. But even with the hefty drizzle, he soldiered on proudly. He had this. "Mama Mama!! I'm home! I walked home all by myself!!" More praise. She was so proud of him.
The third day followed the second in suit. The pavement was wet -- slightly slippery and littered with the leaves of prior rains. The moisture hung in the air, he could smell it. And yet again: "Mama! Mama! I'm back home!!" The confidence was a drug. He was doing so well. He was doing it himself, all on his own. People were proud of him, and that was his addiction.
Soon enough, the fourth day, fifth day, sixth days. The fourth came with warmth, the sun warmed his trademark jacket making him feel hot inside. But he's only take it off to wear as a cape instead. Just like in his favorite show. Another call rang through the door -- "Mama! I'm back!!" The fifth was warm as the last, a pleasantness matched well by the sixth day. "Mama! I'm home!!" Nothing could go wrong.
By the seventh, he was fully confident in his skills. The praise only somewhat began to grow mundane again, just as much so as the actual walk home. He could do it now, what was so special?
But that seventh day was quite special. Why, he didn't come back home that seventh day.
new tier list, this time actual friends and relationships and not just would I hug you <3 these are slightly vaguely in order for the most part, but not really because some were hard lol
explanations under the cut because there's more now, and a lot of weird relationships i believe
ikuto, hibiki, and naga are top absolute besties!! some of the first people he met & talked with comfortably :)
tokiya, yori, evan, and aito are all high besties <333 & boni and michiko he also considers very close too uwu
"i like you a lot friend" is a lot of, in reality they might not talk all that much relatively, he absolutely considers them Really Good Friends <3
noting kiku because I think they'd vibe cuz she's chill & nice but haven't done any interactions before.
I think you're nice &. haven't talked much I'm not as sure, the former being people he enjoys more, and mostly in his class.
"You're a bit scary" I wanna elaborate on some of those too:
tai is a goofy prankster, hoshiz can't entirely tell when hes goofing or not a lot of the time :') he still really likes hanging out with tai tho!! very friends just spooky friend 😔
Makoto is kinda the same, Hoshizawa doesn't really know what they're doing most of the time. She probably convinced him to eat a glowstick once or twice though.
Jiro is a lil spoopky 👉👈
Sumiye is very sociable, trendy, and is able to to keep up with almost the whole school. hoshizawa is afraid of her power... her big sister attitude doesn't help, it just makes him more nervous...
Moa is a lil angry sheep!! probably thought she was cute at first and then she bit him (metaphorically) and uh oh 😢
Tsumi feels very off for him. They have little clue what she's about, and is too scared to ask. He doesn't like her. She's one of the only students he feels he needs to really mask around, even if no not really--
Tamashi terrifies him. Someone else seeing something like their emotions, especially when he doesn't know them himself is terrifying for him. They can't quite comprehend, like in their mind, what Tamashi is and isn't able to see, and doesn't know where emotion reader is or isn't mind reader. Tama is probably the only person Hoshiz will actively avoid, at least at first. (also hoshizawa is an absolute emotional & mental disaster 90% of the time, they're really the only person that would know that :'])
what did yall not expect me to hop on the bullshit, i'm just slow dw :)
i have a lot of details, actor AU hoshizawa here we go
hoshizawa's actor is probably as opposite as it gets to ic hoshizawa. Just absolute bastard man. (now names are hoshiz for in character, and hoshizawa's for actor because i don't feel like naming him <3)
Hoshizawa's is the opposite of chill, could kill a horse with the amount of monster energy he drinks (probably gonna die young jfc--), and constantly needs to be put out of his bullshit.
he's a really good actor beyond the chaos though, the most significant moments of going out of character is brushing his hair out of his face ("IT'S SO ANNOYING!!!!! NYEEEHHHH!!!!!!") and actually nodding off/falling asleep when someone messes with his hair. ("You know, I care about you and-- wait is he falling asleep?" "CUT" "they fell asleep.")
whenever they say "cut" he instantly complains about something. very loudly. ("CURSES!!!! THE ACTIONS OF YOU FOOLS HAVE BROUGHT AN END TO THIS ONCE MARVELOUS TAKE!!!!!!! I'LL CURSE YOU ALLL!!!!!!!!!")
hoshizawa's either unironically says "NYEHEHEHE!!!" or started saying it ironically and it just stuck.
Had to bleach their hair several times to get it to be blue and still has to use so much shit to get it shiny and all preetty looking. unfortunately as nice as it looks, it feels like grainy trash.
Hoshizawa's is given the freedom of using any eye contact color at any point, or to completely void them, a freedom he instantly digs their grimy little crime talons into, so hoshiz doesn't get a consistent eye color here either <3
off set he always has it tied up out of his face because it's so bad.
both before and after khna, hoshizawa's is quite popular on the socials. More known for very absurd variety gaming. (imagining like RTgame sort of video themes, but with Tommyinnit's volume, Callmekevin energy, and Jschlatt's humor. I don't know but sort of that energy.) Posts the worst selfies on Instagram like 90% of the time though. And he always wore really bad shutter shades on camera.
loudest person on set I do not take constructive criticism he is absolutely unmatched in volume.
*ikuto's actor fucks something up* *scream yelling from off set* "SHUT THE FUCK UUUPP" "NEVER NYEEEEEHEHHEHEHE"
ikuto's actor ends up stopping him from evil bastard crimes (arson probably) a lot. will slap him to put a quick end to any such villainous acts off camera, and gives him headpats or whatever to get them to chill tf out.
speaking of, hoshizawa's and ikuto's actors kiss before hoshiz and ikuto ever do. jfc.
anyways enough shipping content, off set he's way more chill. Like, catch them 1-1 and he's like a little wacky but minimal screaming and you can hold a contented conversation with them. The more people there are though, the more bastard this man can be.
do you think that y/n and ikuto will have a fight over who kisses hoshizawa first
sighs deeply this is terrible @the-heartbeat-hero
fighting and death tw
Hoshizawa and I had been friends for a while now... but now I think it's something more... He always makes my heart flutter, like a crush!!! But he doesn't know that... yet. But there was one problem. He was always with that loser Ikuto!!! I hate him so much and I don't get why they like each other so much... He doesn't like me either, he always looks at me meanly and gives me rude glances. I hate him soooooooo much. Hoshizawa clearly liked me more anyways.
Right now I was walking somewhere and then I saw Ikuto!!!! "Ikuto what are you doing here!!!" I asked in shock.
"Nothing!!!!!!" He said angrily. He was already so mad at me!!!!
"Well then I'll keep going >:(" I said madly, starting to walk past me.
"Not so fast!!" Ikuto shouted, stepping back to me. "I know you like Hoshizawa!!!! Well you can't have him!!!!"
"Why not???" I argued back. "I mean I don't even like him!!!!"
"Yes you do!!!!!" He huffed angryly
He'd caught me off guard with that. Maybe I do like him...? "Well what's stopping me!" I growled.
"I am!" Ikuto shouted, jumping at me to attack me!!
"Waah! Stop that!" I yelled back, punching him in the face but he wasn't even phased.
"Hoshizawa is MINE!!!!" He said angry, trying to beat me up!!! This was crazy!!!
"Stopstopstopstopstopstopstopstopstop!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled, beating him up and punching him to get him off of me. I pushed him away finally and was able to get him back! But then he grabbed my throat. Oh no his quirk!!!!! He used his quirk on me to slow my heartbeat until I fainted and died.
since I had yet to finish this, I have put pedals to the metal today <3

part 1
That seventh day was anything but good.
On that seventh day, yet again Hoshizawa had caused problems in class, and yet again he faced the rage of classmates. He had his friends to cheer him up, at least. They drew together in their shared sketchbooks that Hoshizawa took home that day.
On that seventh day, he was walking home again, more than used to walking at this point. He was only able to imagine the world around him, however accurate that image actually was. But at least he knew where he had to go. It was a quiet walk, very few people passed him on his way.
On that seventh day, he found however he wasn't alone. Not as he thought. They found him, preyed on him. Kids were vicious. "Are you scared?" They'd goad the young, blinded boy as he struggled to escape their hold. More than his quirk blinded him, they made him panic. He wasn't scared, he was terrified.
On that seventh day, when mama didn't hear him at the door. They torment him, pressuring him into using his quirk. And of course he did. The uncontrolled sparkles filled the air around him, unregulated as usual, and he couldn't focus enough to stop, or make it disappear. The harassers pushed him away, not stopping their verbal torment.
On that seventh day, he received no praise. Tires screeched, for him only another pain inducing noise in the cacophony in his head. For as much as he heard the horrible noise, he didn't process the imminent danger he was in.
On that seventh day, when the car struck him, and he was sent into the pavement. The emotional pain was quickly overwhelmed by greater physical pain, and then by unconsciousness.
On that seventh day, an ambulance wailed, taking an unconscious boy from the pavement, and the dazed and blinded driver. Everyone was confused, no-one knew what happened.
That seventh day, his house of cards all came crashing down.
All on that seventh day Hoshizawa never remembered.
A storm thundered down in the town -- inky dark rain lashed on the roofs of buildings and on the streets. It was pitch dark outside as a result, the only light outside being a result of occasional thunder strikes.
Hoshizawa was far from fond of the storms. They'd happened often enough that he'd grown mostly desensitized by them, but nonetheless, staying inside was a tempting offer. And it seemed the masses agreed, the pounding rain both kept many away, and lured many inside with the promise of shelter. Hoshizawa didn't mind people staying just to hide from the rain at all. Infact, the calmer, quieter environment was a welcome change from the typical loud and rowdy environment they usually housed.
Hoshizawa usually let patrons stay as long as he could watch them, as casting them into vile rains seemed too cruel for them. Though, exhaustion was weighing on them, and still some quiet folks remained. Taking off his apron to hang up, Hoshizawa gave a quick look around before going just outside.
They flinched at the rain's pounding noise, it was much louder than he'd anticipated. Taking a deep breath, they looked around the dark scene. Neighboring buildings were hardly visible, obscured by the rain and darkness, and past those it was nothing but wet darkness.
The storm made them mildly anxious as usual, but it was actually somewhat relaxing. Something felt off, but he cast the thought aside. Hoshizawa stepped just into the thick of the rain, flinching when he let it fall on their face to wake them up somewhat.
Hoshizawa was interrupted by a strong arm tugging their shirt gruffly, making him stumble back from the force. Turning over quickly, Hoshizawa saw a dark clad figure. He instinctively vollied a jab with his elbow, striking the assailant clumsily.
A fight quickly broke out, with the initial provocateur being joined by a handful of others. Only a grim suspicion could tell Hoshizawa why they'd attacked.
They teamed up against Hoshizawa, and he was soon overwhelmed. Thrown down hard enough to stun them a moment, the attackers pinned them to the ground, tying his wrists and ankles with rope.
"Mister Barkeep," A shockingly polite voice called over the thundering rain, "While I wonder how you've done it, or why you, it would be quite amiss not to call it a crime either."
"What are you talking about," Hoshizawa tried to bring their head up to see the speaker, but his head was held back down with a shove.
"No need to bluff, sir. You come from who knows where, start up this bar — Five, Ten... Fifteen years later you're the exact same?" They brought their face closer to Hoshizawas, just against their ear, "I've even heard some travelers can recall your face from elsewhere. From where you had another name."
"Why Barkeep, you're a creature. I don't know precisely what you are, but I know it isn't human. Your intentions are still a mystery to me, but I'd rather not lie in wait for the fallout."
Hoshizawa was silent as they spoke, their mind rolling over each word. "So, what's your plan then," Hoshizawa asked, all too quiet to be heard over the rain.
"Dear Barkeep, what are you so afraid of, as you've claimed?"
Hoshizawa went cold at the remark. "You wouldn't—" Hoshizawa said with a slight laugh to the speaker, who pressed a hard hand into his back.
"I'll release you into the sea. Surely more monsterkind will await you there."
"So that's your plan?" Hoshizawa laughed over his anxiety, mixed with the cold rain making him shiver, "I don't like the ocean, but what will that do?"
"You're an alright bluff, Barkeep. I'm not sure, but there has to be a reason."
Hoshizawa was tugged into standing, restrained by a few members of the group. His shivering self was dragged away, watching the light from the bar slowly hide in buildings and rain. They didn't resist, with their attempt of holding the bluff. Maybe he'd convince them. There were still some folks at the bar that hadn't left.
They eventually arrived at the shore, which sent Hoshizawa's heart racing. The sea stood swirling ahead, pounding with energy from the waves and the energy. It made them sick, even just the sight. The instinct to resist broke, trying to snap away from the captors. They shook with the chill and anxiety as they were roughly restrained by the captors.
"I figured," The first person said, as they continued to drag a now struggling Hoshizawa to the dock.
"Please stop!" Hoshizawa called desperately, trying to drag himself back to land as he was pulled across the dock.
"You two can take it, me and her will wait here for you all."
Hoshizawa was thrown into a small boat, the rocking making their head spin. They tried to scramble away quickly, attempting to escape the boat, but was shoved back down as the other two entered the boat, and began to leave the shore. Hoshizawa couldn't escape. He cowered in a corner, trying to hide from the sea that surrounded him.
The fear flooded his senses, rendering them unable to concentrate on anything else. The scent drove him mad, the rocking made them dizzy. Hoshizawa shook madly, holding his tied hands by their head.
Their blinding fear wracked their head, wracking him into attacking the other people on the boat. The restraints held him back, and it was impossible to actually fight them, though. The scuffle only rocked the boat harder, making Hoshizawa feel sick. One pressed him up against the edge of the boat, holding a knife against their throat. The knife didn't scare them as much as the oceanic abyss below, which drove the force of his panic in that moment.
"Here," A rough voice shouted over the weather.
"Bastard," The one that pinned him seethed, taking the knife and driving it into his stomach, dragging the blade as they shoved him off the boat.
The horrible, noxious pain flashed through him, weakening their place on the boat as they were cast in the water, unable to muster the energy to fight. Crashing into a flash of cold water made him want to scream, but no force allowed them to. The chill now pressed into his bones, but he tried to escape. While it was so close, they could hardly muster the ability to cross above the choppy surface that pushed them under for any solid period, let alone to the leaving boat. He had grown so weak. Unable to fight for the surface, when another wave crashed into their face they were shoved under a final time. Hoshizawa could no longer get air.
If they were mortal, they most certainly would have died already. But unfortunately, he wasn't. He couldn't find enough energy to fight the ocean waters, leading to a painful descent into the ocean depths.
They fell for seconds.
For minutes.
For hours.
For several hours.
It was painfully destroying them. Drowning was bad enough, grievous injury or no, but they fell through the depths more and more with pressure soon becoming more crushing. They couldn't bear the struggle, but they knew they'd have nothing else.
Nothing but horrible pain for eternity.
...
Until something grabbed them... Someone grabbed them. Unable to perceive what happened in the darkness beyond a force grabbing them, and forcing their mouths together. Hoshizawa felt the air again. They were stunned but relieved. Soon he felt the pressure slowly leave their chest, and eventually met the surface. They could perceive little else in the dizzying madness he felt, clinging onto his savior, spitting and coughing pure saltwater. Shivering from icy temperatures, weak from the stabbing, blinded by fear — Hoshizawa's curse was the only thread keeping them together.
He was soon released onto the shore, rapidly kicking with their still bound legs to get further away from the sea, but just ended up just scuffing the sand before giving up to rest.
A voice spoke up, their savior; Ikuto.
"My god- are you okay?!"
They were stunned for a moment. The fact he was saved at all was a shock. And from the kid he knew at the bar? They hadn't seen him in ages, how did he get them out?! The entire situation confused him, but he rested his questions for the moment.
"Better," Hoshizawa strained to speak at last, the eventual response leading Ikuto to keep hounding questions.
"How on earth are you alive?? I was so worried, I thought you were dead- but..." Ikuto paused for a moment, rambling over his anxiety, "How?? How aren't you dead??"
And Hoshizawa didn't have a sweet lie to tell. "I can't die. I'm an immortal," They said, for the first time ever.
hoshiz has a LOT of weird quirk logic because I overthink and wanted to make a way over-complicated explanation for the silly little ideas I wanted.
there is SO MUCH weird blood logic I'm not really committed to enough to 100% it BUT
he has a lack of white blood cells (sorta) because of his quirk? but actually the stardust sorta acts in that role in his body. s-sorta. It does a manageable job at it though. S SOOORTAAAA..... LOTTA REALLY WEIRD BARELY PSEUDOSCIENCE STUFF.........
Basically this means a lot of weird stuff, especially with other factors. LOTS... OF WEIRD STUFF... read more cut because I'm going to RANT.
Ok the actual major things first
Usually, his body makes and burns/uses/whatever stardust at a very steadily growing rate. While using his quirk, his body is actually making MORE stardust than he uses. Like a lot more. Like... A LO-
His actual blood has stardust in it! acting mostly as white blood cells because his own body just absolutely sucks at making those.
their quirk is very volatile and hard to manage due to being a (genetic) mutation of his parents.
And the effects those have
1)) Stardust usage
HE MAKES A LOOOT OF STARDUST YOU GUYS--
HOWEVER-- stardust is an absolute ton of energy relative to any other body thing. Usually it's completely self sustaining, sorta like in Minecraft if you were to burn charcoal to make more charcoal (like an idiot)
in that sense, very theoretically, he could be a completely renewable and sustainable green energy source. In every other sense WHAT--
But there is kinda the inherent toll it has just constantly going where he's just. sorta low energy a lot. Not like "gonna fall asleep if mister clarkson drones on for 3 more minutes" but just sorta low energy.
and when using their quirk, their making so much that unless he's using an incredible amount, he's not actually losing any stardust.
fortunately the only situation where they'd have too LOW is when he explodes though. (i.e. when they have none at all.)
where he is just completely out of any stardust, and needs to get a Lot of energy to start that process again.
however he can have too much!
when they're using their quirk, his body produces a FUCKTON of stardust. Like, more than he'd ever realistically use.
Basically his quirk is in a sort-of emergency GET MORE STARDUST PLEEASE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO USE RIGHT NOW PLEEEEEASE!!! kinda like a really sensitive car alarm, or like the one smoke alarm my mom never replaced...
Also why his hair gets duller with more use!! normally it's like stored I guess, but when in "emergency mode" (read; literally used his quirk once at all ever slightly) they use stardust in their hair first before anything else and their hair starts dulling with use.
however, the extremely heightened amount of stardust is only temporary!
Both while and for a while after using their quirk, excess stardust will just exist in the air around them for a good while afterwards. (This isn't nearly as bright as normal!! more like sequins, or cat eyes. It's not blinding like when they're using their quirk normally.)
2)) white blood cells are stardust
so yeah,,, guess he's part stardust himself which,,,,
they can also have pretty nasty fluctuations on those counts because of the sheer difficulty to control it and general instability of it.
and yes without the stardust, hoshizawa effectively suffers the leukopenia, and with too much, leukocytosis. Have fun sweetie <3
so basically, after exploding not only does he have to worry about all the side effects while he has no stardust, they also have all those worries and has to be extra careful about infections :)
he would only have less after exploding, which is rare I HOPE.
It causes some of the side effects, but also there's just a lot of exhaustion there in general. Resting somewhere with less things to get sick around is good :')
In terms of having too much, just over time if he's
They act as blood cells, it's definitely not anything like actual blood. Don't know what it IS, but not like actual blood.
Also Stardust is different inside his body versus outside his body, but are both burned when he explodes :')
yeah no they're NOT just yeeting blood everywhere to blind your ass, sorry. Only kind-of barely.
In that, I don't think the stardust would be "included" in strictly blood quirk related things. (it's like prosthetic blood. I Guess.) which could lead to uhh... ISSUES.... I believe...
(talked with ikuto op, nothing there, I'm not sure abt yori op)
But also, the stardust inside his body is actually a physical thing (minuscule, but a physical thing) as opposed to when using his quirk they're really just motes of highly concentrated light. I guess.
3)) Volatility
His quirk is... quite tricky to even just HAVE.
Their body wasn't fully prepared to handle such a big, powerful quirk.
(as in, his mom can make pretty star shaped shurikens and his dad can use a flashlight. He can blind you and everyone in a 10ft radius on accident.)
but this meant he had a really hard time controlling his quirk at first, even just to not use it on accident.
And now in UA, training his quirk, has a lot of learning and management to do so he doesn't blind himself & everyone constantly while actually using it.
because he can accidentally just keep going, using his quirk on MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE in training, and just exhaust himself and fall down the stairs.
he just has a lot of learning to do all around :')
