   In truth,  this was something she didn’t quite understand.  It was a rarity already that she ever worked with anyone else when it came to her work for the intelligence department,  but having to act as a diplomat’s partner over an extended period ...  It felt strange.  Maybe it was partly due to her lack of understanding when it came to romance.

        His words,  however,  were even more confusing.

   Turning to face him quietly the agent’s golden irises quietly searched her fellow Fatui member’s face,  confusion and uncertainty painted on her features as she tried to somehow figure out just what was running through his mind  -  but to no avail.

   “ ... If you can’t handle this job any more ,  then I’m probably not the one you need to tell . ”  She replied at last.  Clearly the true meaning behind his words hadn’t quite sunk in.  “ Was I making things difficult ? ”

Having an easygoing personality has always been one of Yanfei’s greatest assets-- along with her knowledge and sharp wit, of course. She could always make the best out of a situation, including getting stood up at a festival. No grudges would be held since it got her away from work for a few hours but the night was off to an unpleasant start. In other words, it was a breath of fresh air that the man enthusiastically joined her to dance. Had she seen him before? 

“Glad you said yes, I’m not sure if I can handle anymore embarrassment tonight-” Yanfei commented light-heartedly while guiding their movements to avoid ther dancers who seemed too preoccupied to watch their step. “Plus... you looked like you didn’t want to be here. Did I ruin your plan to brood in the corner all night?”

THE  JABBERWOCK  GIVES  HIM  THE  TIME  OF  DAY  at the expense of his own sanity at times, or so it may feel. He regards him with no degree lacking in bemusement, no hint of emotion ‘pon his stoic features, though that is little new in their exchanges. He has spent enough time with humes, he thinks, to believe that he might perceive this as mockery, if only due to the body language his companion exhibits. His eyes narrow, claw raising to rest ‘neath his chin with subtly furrowed brows. From green to silver do his eyes fade and lost in his reverie, his fangs chew ‘pon his bottom lip as he turns this statement around in his head. What is it making it so hard to react  ...  ah, yes.

☛  What does that mean? Rendezvous.  ☚  Quite awkwardly does he butcher signing out the word, clear now that the sentiment of his  ...  invitation?  is lost upon him due to miscommunication. Though he has learned much of language, various in fact, from the creations he had spent eons with, it is times like these it occurs to him how little he spoke with them, figuratively speaking. Reading words ‘pon a page and hearing them aloud are different.  ☛ I believe I have heard such sentiments spoken within the kingdom walls. Are you asking me to attend a meeting...? Why in such a frivolous manner? ☚

“ oh ! erm- ” imogen blushes- glancing away. she’s unused to such kind, honeyed words. her fingers fiddle with a ribbon on her dress- afraid of taking up too much space. she smiles though- a smile as sweet as ripe apples and as gentle as the blessed breeze that rolls through the valleys and hills of the city of freedom.  she looks up through her eyelashes- a starry eyed sea foam green. “ thank you ! ”

The rollerblading bastard finds himself skating up to Tong, remembering the once distant encounter. "It's you! You free right now? Got some time to fuck around?"

Tong didn't recognize the man on roller-blades at first, but as they got closer, he remembered well enough. "Oh, you." Tong says, his tone casual, flat even, though with a smirk forming on his face. "Yeah, I'm not in the middle of anythin' right now, why not?" That was a lie, but Tong didn't see why he couldn't indulge in a bit of leisurely free time, it's not like he was in a rush to get anything done at the moment. Not to mention that Tong expected the target of his current job today to seek him out, not the other way around, and having someone else on hand to help deal with them would make his day a lot easier.

This was just too easy. “Smash... you’re in the the Fatui right? You see, I’ve heard this rumor about the Fatui from a good friend and I have to figure out if it’s true.” Yanfei was much more relaxed now that the only threatening person was out of the picture, even going as far as reclining in her chair. Was she going to tell him the word on the street? Of course not.
