Task Page? Use Lines, Not Stickers

The more task-centered a journal page becomes, the more its decoration has to work.

Decoration has a job

On task pages, lines group tasks, space shows weight, and color marks action. Stickers can slow the scan when the page is meant to guide work.

Decorate the structure

Build the page with one action block, one follow-up lane, and one notes pocket. Add quiet dividers and breathing room before adding any decorative sticker.

If the page must perform, let spacing carry the style.

Priority Marks Can Matter More Than Completion Checks

A checkmark is useful, but it is not the same as a decision. Priority marks shape the page before completion checks close the loop.

Do not let easy checks win the layout

A page can look productive because it has many completed small tasks, while the real work stays untouched at the bottom.

Build the page around A1

Mark the real outcome, give the A1 task a time home, check later instead of first, and review what moved.

Let priority decide the shape of the day.

Leave Unscheduled Time Blank

It is fine to leave unscheduled time blank on purpose. Open space can protect the plan instead of making the page look unfinished.

Do not turn every gap into a task

When every open hour gets assigned, the page may look productive but it loses recovery room, transition time, and flexibility.

Give the blank space a job

Place fixed events, add true tasks, leave recovery gaps, then review without refilling every empty line.

Blank time is allowed to be part of the design.
