Ernie’s mother is the one person who Ernie felt the most comfortable around in his family even with the close relationship he shared with his father. She had to be the sweetest witch on the planet who never asked for a lot. Her family originates from Australia where she attended the Hogwarts equivalent in Australia. The decision for Ernie and his siblings to go to Hogwarts dealt mostly with their family name carrying more at the school along with the tradition of the Macmillan family to be in the Hufflepuff house.
Not only was his mother completely supportive of Ernie, but she never judged him for any mistakes he made or choices he made along the road. Ernie could tell her everything, even when he finally got the nerve to come out to his parents in regards to his sexuality.
“Is that it?” His mother asked, navigating her way around the kitchen while Ernie stood dumbfounded leaning against the counter. The lack of shock or expression to his confession of attraction to both boys and girls. He figured his mother would cause some sort of magical accident such as plates falling or the stove to burn more than it needed to.
“Did you hear what I said, mum?” Ernie questioned her, making sure that he heard him the first time so his own hopes weren’t up for no reason. The boy was only 15 and it wasn’t insane for his mother to call it some sort of phase.
She nodded her head. “Yes Ernest. Good gosh I’m not old enough to where my hearin’ starts fadin’. Now could you please start settin’ the table for dinner. Your brother is decidin’ to visit for once and I’d love for the table to look presentable.” This couldn’t be happening, she needed to have some type of reaction so Ernie wasn’t completely confused.
He was sure that she was in denial, or really hadn’t heard him. While setting the table, Ernie decided to just say it one more time. “I’m attracted to boys too.” He blurted out one last time, looking at mum who was still cooking with her back turned. She didn’t didn’t exhibit any reaction that came off as surprised.
After several minutes, his mother only signed before turning around. “Ernest, do you mistake me for some Drongo?” She walked up to Ernie from the kitchen, wrapping her arms around his neck for a few seconds before kissing the top of his head. “I don’t care what you like Ernest, you’re still the child I’ll love no matter what he likes or who he likes.”
He nodded his head, as he was the idiot the entire time. He should have known this was going to be easy but there was still that anxiety-driven mind of his that made it seem like the world was out to get him.
“And besides, do you really think I had no suspicions when you were spendin’ hours upon hours with that Clarence? Merlin, Ernie. I know boys love to spend time with one another but maybe next time you should kiss him further away from the house and not the kitchen window.” She smiled before going back to the pots and pans in front of her. She left Ernie with an entirely red face and leaving him speechless.
His mother really was the most kind woman in the world, and he didn’t know what he did to deserve this kind of woman in his life.

THE TASK
STEP 1: Decide on a FC / media you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who / what are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick something for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating, unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
