A flavorful and spicy twist on the classic veggie burger, these Veggie Masala Burgers are packed with Indian spices and served with a creamy Cilantro Chutney Aioli. They are perfect for those who crave bold and unique flavors in their burgers.
Ingredients: 1 cup cooked chickpeas. 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes. 1/2 cup finely chopped mixed vegetables carrots, bell peppers, and peas. 1/4 cup finely chopped red onions. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp ginger paste. 1 tsp garam masala. 1/2 tsp cumin powder. 1/2 tsp coriander powder. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder. 1/4 tsp red chili powder adjust to taste. Salt to taste. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 4 burger buns. Oil for cooking.
Instructions: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chickpeas, mashed potatoes, and finely chopped mixed vegetables. Add minced garlic, ginger paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the bowl. Mix well to combine all the ingredients. Using your hands, shape the mixture into burger patties. Coat each patty with breadcrumbs for a crispy texture. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the veggie masala patties until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly in the same pan until they are golden brown. To make the Cilantro Chutney Aioli, simply mix 1/2 cup of vegan mayo with 2 tablespoons of cilantro chutney. Assemble the burgers by spreading a generous amount of Cilantro Chutney Aioli on the toasted buns. Place the veggie masala patty on the bottom bun and top it with finely chopped red onions and any additional veggies you prefer.
