UNCLE JAVI
IT WAS AN IMMEDIATE REACTION. JAVIER’S EYES DARTED over to his nephew, eyebrows raised as if waiting for the boy to immediately start talking. The corners of his lips had already started to tug upwards, something that was only natural whenever his nephew was in the room. They’d gone through Hell together, and that was just about the understatement of the century. Gabe was a fighter, though, and had even taught him a few things along the way.
The man’s voice was light, about as carefree as it could get with the sounds of walkers always in the distance. ❝ What’s up, buddy? ❞ he asked, unable to resist the urge of reaching up to mess with the kid’s beanie. His hand didn’t have to reach down as much as it used to. ❝ You’re gonna have to stop growin’ so damn much, or I’m gonna have to find a pair of stilts on the next supply run. ❞
@taughteuchre // name a better uncle - nephew duo, i’ll wait.
