There are many things to do here including visiting historic buildings that date back to when Tavares was first founded way back in 1883. The locals tend to frequent the various unique restaurants downtown including Puddle Jumpers and Ruby Street Grille. Although most recently, a top favorite is BTW, which stands for Burgers, Tacos, and Waffles. Their motto is “This is a bad place for a diet” and you can easily pick up your food and go next door for a cocktail or local craft beers.
There are many other more commonly known places to eat that are either in Tavares or nearby Leesburg, such as Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, or various fast food locations.
