Tavares is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Lake County area. There are many things to do here including visiting historic buildings that date back to when Tavares was first founded way back in 1883. There are several restaurants in Tavares. Some are unique and special and tend to be located in the historic downtown area. Others are more common and popular and are mostly located on or right off of 441.
The locals tend to frequent the various unique restaurants downtown including Puddle Jumpers and Ruby Street Grille. Although most recently, a top favorite is BTW, which stands for Burgers, Tacos, and Waffles. Their motto is “This is a bad place for a diet” and you can easily pick up your food and go next door for a cocktail or local craft beers.
There are many other more commonly known places to eat that are either in Tavares or nearby Leesburg, such as Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, or various fast food locations.
