(Ive noticed this a lot over time but finally decided to put it into words)
Nonbinary people or just anyone who is gender neutral or litterally any gender that does not explicitly include "boy" or "man" tend to be seen as so many people, even other lgbt+ people as women, or woman lite and are usually included in women spaces and allowed to be lesbian (if that's what you like, i dont mind im making a general statement)
However, presenting as gender neutral tends to be seen as looking more masculine. Its always the no boobs, short hair, not hight voice, baggy clothes etcetera. Little to none of the things ive seen about presenting or passing as nonbinary include anything that features on women and tend to lean towards presenting masc and having male features (again, if that is what you like, im not judging)
Being nonbinary, or genderqueer or gender neutral or anything along those lines are not a "middle ground" between man and woman, they are also not a third gender that makes it a trinary, it is its own thing but people, including other lgbt+ people tend to lump in nonbinary people with either being women (or womanlite), or looking masculine when that is just not the case.
