Vienna fumbles with her phone, her fingers shaking as she dialed the number in a hurry. There’s blood on the very tips of them, and she’s sure (but not certain) that it doesn’t belong to her. The woman can’t stop for a moment to fathom, as she’s too busy trying to get a call out. The network, as one might expect, is jammed. Every time she hits send she gets a busy signal. But she is relentless and, eventually, the line begins to ring.
“Dad?” Vee hears a click come over the receiver. She is panic-stricken, as much is evident in her voice. “Oh my god.” Her voice trembles. “Are you okay? Where are you? Please tell me you’re alright.” [ @noelmikkelsen ]
