If I had a nickle for every time I have had a crush on a blonde man named Oliver that had a birthday on June 27, I would have two nickles, which is not a lot, but its weird it has happened twice.
My dog is sitting next to me on the couch and she has the worst gas ever. Send air freshener.
My Mom got my cats a bird toy that sings when they play with it and they love it and constantly play with it send help.
One of my coworkers just said time slots but it sounded like time sluts through the speaker and I’m so proud of myself that I did not laugh because I would die of embarrassment if they asked me why I was laughing.
I swear I’m alive I’m just like…surviving. I guess I’m on a temp hiatus or something.
But I’m still around and still seeing (and reading) some fic updates.
I’m just not super active.
As a scientist, one of the biggest things I hate is when another scientist starts talking about controversial things, sounds really knowledgeable, and then ends with ‘hopefully this can be a jumping point into your you own research’ without proving any sources or places to start (typically this is to a non-sciency oriented audience but I have seen it between scientists as well). Bonus points if said argument happened after someone specifically asked for direct sources.
Like it’s one thing when describing things in general conversation but the second you start encouraging people to do their own research without providing sources…especially when said argument is controversial and goes against the grain of common understanding…it screams to me either you know you are wrong, your not as knowledgeable as you are trying to make people think, you know your sources are weak, or your the worlds biggest gatekeeper.
Granted I know those might not necessarily be true and personal experience does not equate to actuality, but every time I have heard someone say “hahaha here is this argument coming from research I read… do your own research” without mentioning or sending their sources was someone who was trying to hide something or guilt people into agreeing with them.
And don’t get me wrong this is not a ‘I’m always right’ type thing. There has been multiple times were I have got into a disagreement and had my opinion* changed because the person sent actual sources and said (paraphrasing/reading between the lines) ‘hey start here’.
*Said opinion is not just specific to scientific research either
sometimes I get really sad that im not well known or have lots of friends in my fandom and probably never will be because I dont make any content or share a lot of head cannons and im also really shy.
And then I see all the hate anon and anon fics going around and im like, actually im somewhat grateful.
