Belated Valentine’s Day Headcanons
For @please-call-me-nix (belated because MY CAT TOTALED MY NEW MACBOOK AND NO IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND NO I AM NOT OKAY but anyway)
1. Chloe and Sam definitely do Galentine’s Day. Maybe with Vanessa. Maybe even with Joan! Gotta have Galentine’s Brunch.
2. When Wadsworth is dating someone, she schedules everything in advance and is very businesslike about it. The flower delivery is set up weeks ahead, as is the dinner reservation, etc. Yes, she always has flowers delivered to her lover’s office, regardless of their gender. Yes, regardless of whether they work at the same place. It’s always a really big, show-offy bouquet, too, but not too over the top. Like, maybe 2 dozen red roses, but not 100.
3. (Owen would definitely be the type to send 100 red roses to Joan. I think she would get really overwhelmed and throw them in the trash rather than trying to deal with them. Or more likely, she’d give them to the administrative assistant and awkwardly explain the predicament, and that admin asst would take care of it by giving roses to everyone in the building.)
4. Sarah’s fiancé surprises her with a homemade spa night, with lots of candles and some zen music and himself as masseuse, because Sarah works really hard and has Joan’s back and deserves nice things! I love Sarah!!!!!
5. Sam is usually alone, but this year she and Chloe and Frank go see Lego Batman together. Sam buys both of them dinner, but they get it to go and eat it in the car with the top down while staring up at the stars and talking about whether aliens would make movies as weirdly meta-layered as Lego Batman.
6. Mark will never live down the year he had not two but three valentines by accident. While he was imprisoned by the AM, Charlie wished him Happy Valentine’s Day once and Mark still hasn’t figured out if it was a platonic greeting or not.
7. Joan forgets it’s Valentine’s Day and has a very economical supper of a Lean Cuisine and some boxed wine.
8. February SUCKS for Damien all around. He has to deal with being lonely on his birthday on the 2nd, then the cold dark northern winter, then being lonely on Valentine’s Day, then MORE WINTER... He probably goes to a sports bar and forces his waitress to listen to him complain.
9. Or he just follows Joan around and teases her about being alone on Valentine’s Day. Joan shuts him down real fast by pointing out that he is also alone on Valentine’s Day. He definitely sulks after that. But maybe he leaves and comes back with some real dinner for the two of them and compels Joan to watch hockey with him while they eat it.
