‘ let’s be friends with benefits. The benefits ? you get to be friends with me. ‘ / mal

the suggestion , before the punchline , is almost enough to shock her . not so much the idea of a friends with benefits relationship but the fact that it’d come from george . the cheeky git makes jokes as consistently as he breathes but this one managed to throw malkin off , her heart rate following in suit & a flutter in the pit of her stomach . she considers him a moment as settles herself before making to play along . ❛ how about dental ? or at least a discount at the shop ! ❜

his twin’s got a habit of making him SNORT in amusement . now is no exception . ❛ ah , you’re not that bad Georgie . you’re funny , you’ve got a good heart . and most importantly , ❜  fred throws a lanky arm around the red head’s shoulder , an impish smirk plastered on his lips , ❛ you look a hell of a lot like me . you know , give or take a few details .  ❜

❛ --- if you’ve got a buzzer hidden in your palm and you think it’d be funny to shock me , i’d take a moment to really mull that over . ❜             JUST TRUST ME .          there was a point in time when malkin was not so JADED , when trust was a word with a velocity no different than pumpkin juice . her naivety & innocence allowed her to trust damn near anyone whether they asked it of her or not . but she knows george well enough . she knows that he wouldn’t lead her astray . it’s with squinted hazel optics & slightly upturned lips that malkin makes to place her hand inside george’s. but then  !!!  she pauses just shy of flesh on flesh to regard him once more with a skeptical look . though she cracks not long after because can’t help but give in not only to that friendly face of his , but her own natural CURIOSITY . & so , she places her hand in his , giving him just a little bit of TRUST .

the words of  ENDEARMENT truly do touch the weasley twin’s heart . even if he’s already very much AWARE that he’s his brother’s favorite . sure , they’re the middle two children of SEVEN with five other siblings to choose a favorite from & two parents ( who , really , should take the title of favorite people ) , but they began this life together . no bond could compare or be forged quite like fred & george’s . the beaming grin comes easily unto fred’s face , lighting him up from forehead to chin & not missing an inch between as he looks into the same eyes colored hues he shares with his brother .          

❛ you don’t say , georgie ! funny you should mention it because you’re my favorite , too . don’t tell ron , though . i might’ve said he was my favorite after borrowing a few galleons before . ❜

wand twirling between lithe fingers , malkin eyes her TARGET . except that she’s familiar with the redhead & it’s difficult to imagine that he’s meant to be her ENEMY , that they’re meant to face off against one another when it’d be so much easier to LAUGH . however , malkin plants her feet upon the grated floor , reminding herself that as much fun as it is to be part of something such as dumbledore’s army     ( IRONICALLY ENOUGH )     , they’re working toward something that will bring change to the wizarding world . they train now to make sure they have the chance for laughter later .          ❛ don’t go easy on me , george . ❜          malkin orders , wand at the ready for attack .
