That awkward moment when Hiccup invites his boyfriend to stay in YOUR house.
"That awkward moment when your comment is completely unnecessary, because Douglas knows that that is happening, because it is DOUGLAS’S house. Hashtag Win.”
"Hiccup, my Hiccup!", Douglas sang as he walked through the apartment looking for the younger one, "Did Kieran tell you already? Did Kieran tell you about the news? Great news!"
The circle of life - Hiccup
Meeko took an aimless walk around the circus, and even though he had no place to go, his subconscious kept pushing him towards the dragon’s tent. Somehow, he knew Hiccup would be there, and somehow his mind knew what he really wanted to do was to see him just like it had been for the past couple days–or weeks, to be honest.
Even though he never knocked on doors, judging by the time of the day, the main entrance should be closed, but when he did, he realized it wasn’t like that. With the slightest touch, the main door opened, immediately making Meeko feel worried and restless. He frowned as he stepped into the tent that was silent as a cemetery at midnight. Something wasn’t right. He kept going until the dragons’ room: they were all out of their cages just playing with each other, but Hiccup wasn’t there. Meeko gave the dragons a couple pats and smiles before he kept walking to the small private room in the back of the tent. He could hear voices: violent words and punches could be heard from the outside. Meeko’s heart raced as he looked for something he could use as an arm. A few seconds later, he found some sort of metal tube and broke into the room, where a noticeable bigger man than Hiccup had him tied in a chair and by the state of his friend, they had badly injured him. With no second thought, Meeko threw random hits and punches to the man with the metal bat, not caring at all if he was armed, or trying to defend himself. The adrenaline rush made him leave him unconscious and laying on the floor but it was too late.
"No, no, no… Stay with me, Hic. Come on! Talk to me, buddy… Please," he begged his friend as he tried to untie him as fast as his hands could work and his clouded teary eyes let him, but by the time he got rid of all the ropes, Hiccup fell on him and Meeko, not being strong enough to keep standing, fell to the floor with him on his lap. "No, no… Husband, come back.. Open your eyes, please… Say something witty, or… stupid, you get to choose… I’ll bring help, but.. no… Please!" He begged as his friend let out one last breath. There was no sign of move, or air coming in or out from his lungs, and there wasn’t anything Meeko could do to bring his friend back. "Hiccup… Hiccup, come on… Draco is waiting for you outside," he mumbled with his voice breaking and the tears finally breaking out. "Please… Not you, not you, not you…" his voice trailed off as he leaned in, closer to his friend’s body.
This is gonna be good - Hiccup
And Meeko was, once again, in the same situation he was not so long ago. It seemed like the good times lasted just long enough to make him feel some sort of fake happiness before an even greater fall. He couldn’t take it. He didn’t know what to do, or how to distract himself anymore. He had stopped going out, his few smokes a week had became a pack per day and he was never hungry anymore. Not even his favorite food would make him smile. Meeko knew how to fake it. To every question about how he was, he would nod and smile, assuring he was alright. No one would understand anyway. Having to say goodbye to one person had been the hardest thing he’d ever done, but saying goodbye to his Hiccup? The one and only person that had helped him up when he really needed to? That was impossible to even try.
His long walks around the circus and his quests for food had become even longer evenings just sitting outside the apartment buildings no matter if it was a sunny, cloudy or a rainy day. He didn’t care anymore. Often people would come by and sit with him but soon they got bored and left just like the couple individuals earlier that day. Meeko sighed and felt the tears threatening to leave his eyes, taking a lot of his concentration to avoid it. His eyes got lost somewhere in the horizon in front of him and they would’ve stayed like that if it hadn’t been for that vision. A clumsy boy taking big steps towards him. It looked like his walk, it looked like his way of making his way somewhere, but it was impossible. It couldn’t be him. He was dead… or that’s what Meeko had heard at least. But then the boy got closer with each minute, with each second, and the tears left Meeko’s eyes. He was left frozen, unable to move and completely skeptical about what he was seeing. It was Hiccup. It really was him.
As fast as he could, Meeko left the bench and rushed over Hiccup, not even caring to know if he was alright or where had he been. He threw his arms around his Hiccup and without a warning he kissed the boy almost desperately as if for some reason, this would assure him it wasn’t just a fidget of his imagination.
It wasn’t.
Meeko pulled away and hid his face on the crook of Hiccup’s neck. “I knew the Gods couldn’t be so mean…” he mumbled, tightening his arms around the boy.
Kieran, Sarah, Hiccup, Hiccup's dragon, Kieran's penguin, You and because you're... close with Eva she probably stays over occasionaly too like you did at hers. THAT IS QUITE CROWDED FOR A APARTMENT FOR TWO! How many people do you think fit in your bed?
"If Harry Potter can live in a wardrobe, I bet we could live in an apartment for two people.”
I feel like you should kick Hiccup out.
"Why should Douglas kick Hiccup out?"
well how many people you actually consider yours? Wasn't it only Eva and your brother?
"Douglas calls many people his; many different people. Besides them Douglas has his adorable Hiccup, his smiley Brooke, his beautiful Ella, his brainy Shira… more… maybe… Hmm. Douglas has many… basically."
Douglas looked up as he heard someone enter the apartment. Someone with a key. Smiling brightly he pushed himself up from the bed and walked, still quiet sore, into the living room. "Guess, guess, guess!", he grinned at Hiccup and pulled the younger one closer to place a kiss on his temple, since he couldn't hug him due the pain that touch would cause, "Douglas is happy. Very happy!"
