Sunday, April 26th: 50 for 50, LACMA - A celebration of 50 years for the incredible institution of LACMA. The expertly curated event will show this Sunday free to the public to celebrate the enormous milestone. Artists featured will range from Warhol, Lichtenstein, to Degas, Lautrec and many many more.
Tuesday, April 28th: Apparitions: Frottages and Rubbings from 1860-Now, The Hammer - Collaborative. This new exhibition opening at The Hammer highlights anonymous artists as well as prominent Surrealists who delved into the world of Rubbings as an art medium.
Wednesday, April 29th: PHOTO Magazine Featuring Dan Tauge and Idan Zareski, Beverly Hills - Opening reception closed to public, but will be on display after. A pop up shop style exhibition inside a boutique gallery in Beverly Hills, PHOTO Magazine hosts its first ever exhibition in Los Angeles. Dan Tauge and Idan Zareski work through mediums of sculpture and photography to convey important political and societal issues bringing them front and center for this exhibition.
Thursday, April 30th: ARTOPIA, Container Yard Downtown LA - Back again for tis ____ year, ARTOPIA arrives this Thursday for an all around explosively good time submerged in the arts. From local artists to prominent members in the art community, there is something for everyone to connect with. Friday, May 1st: Pancakes + Booze, Lot 613 Arts District DTLA - Another installment of the ever popular and growing collaboration pop up show Pancakes + Booze will take place this Friday May 1st. Located right in the middle of the Arts District Downtown, the event features 125 artists emerging and known. Notorious for its all you can eat pancakes as well as booze selection, Pancakes + Booze always proves to be a lively and tasty experience filled with enough art to make your art-loving heart explode!
Saturday, May 2nd: Zodiac, The Gabba Gallery - A curated exhibition to appeal to as well as challenge our knowledge and relation to Astrology. Astrology, the wonderment of the stars and the Zodiac has long been part of the human conscious as something to engage in as well as believe in. The exhibition features work from contemporary artists that delve further into the world of Zodiac as well as including work and writings of ancient interpretations and diagrams for a well rounded experience of the stars through art.
