My advice to him would be; He needs to take a break from his girlfriend, and from you for a while. Eventually he will know who he really wants to be with, When he gets a text or a phone call in those few seconds he will think of who he wishes were on the other side. {it's the same situation as the one I'm in so I know how you feel completely. It's absolutely horrible, thinking you should give up but not being able to walk away from something that could make you happy :/} here if you need me xxxx

I think that you need to tell him straight up that you like him and he needs to figure out whether he likes you more than this girl or not. In the end it isn't fair on her being with a guy who's thinking about someone else, she doesn't deserve that, and you don't deserve to be strung along waiting for a guy who might never leave her. But if he breaks up with this girl and chooses you I would say take it slow at first to make sure both your feelings are genuine before ruining your friendship xxxx
