So today a mob of local students came up to me in the park and were all very keen to practice their English. There was even greater delight on their faces when I said I’d come to Vietnam to teach English. One of the lads filmed me the whole time so I’m probably famous in the university now..or something haha, jeez. We had some good laughs together and I asked them to help me with some Vietnamese. One lady was very impressed with my pronunciation of the Vietnamese words for ‘skating’ or ‘lăn trượt băng’. Priorities in learning functional Vietnamese, right!? Oh well it kept conversation flowing and when it was time for me to wander off I wished them all the best for their future studies, etc and gave them a very shaky ‘Tạm biệt!’ (goodbye)
