Oh, gosh, that sounds like it would be so much fun to play??

Like, the rest of the party definitely wouldn’t know that I was a halfling, because obviously I’d illusion myself to look like.... I don’t know. A dragonborn. Or maybe just a human that’d be more believable

And then somebody would eventually swing a sword at me and it would go right over my head because, you know, still a halfling. And human-illusion-me would just shrug, like, I dunno, guys, the sword just missed me probably, this happens, it’s normal

And since that’s clearly obviously Something Going On There, I’d keep up the human illusion, but start dropping hints that I was actually a dwarf.

Because clearly this is the proper way to build party cohesion
