Semblance -- Songstress

Popourri’s semblance had long been decided, but hadn’t been typed out until now. So I’ll be updating her bio shortly but I figured I’d post it here too. Sooo, here it is below the cut! 

More information will be added, such as further uses of her semblance, especially when she becomes stronger during her studies && experience.

Popourri is able to influence the mind in a state similar to hypnosis, done so by using && projecting her voice to echo into her opponent's mind by singing.

The power her semblance holds has a limited radius, && during earlier stages of her training could only influence in small instances.

Her current ability allows her to influence the mind of a single individual at a time-- doing things such as having them walk/run or even attack if her opponent's mind doesn't belong to a strong individual.

The hypnosis lasts only for a short span of time, && their connection can be severed with multiple methods.

After using her semblance, Popourri's vocal chords are strained, && if pushed to an extreme, can cause her to lose her voice for a period of time.

Current Capabilities

Able to influence the mind of one person at a time, for a short period of time under a set radius.

Can influence one to walk/run, attack, give/take, speak.

Voice acts as an inner conscious.

Can be used with Soundscape to amplify her influential ability, making her more likely to catch her opponent. But also leaves her vulnerable to attacks by others due to being still while playing her harp. Much like “a sitting duck.”

Known Connection Severages

If Popourri is attacked && hit while influencing.

Her opponent becomes self aware of what is happening. Especially common if strong.

The radius is breached.

Popourri becomes fatigued.

Her semblance could be compared to Emerald's as they both alter (albeit much smaller in Popourri's case) others perceptions of things.

An example of Popourri's ability is to capture an opponent and influencing them into walk off a cliff, or using their weapon to attack an unsuspecting teammate.

Popourri's 'Songstress' semblance is heavily inspired by mermaids luring sailors, bringing them to their own deaths without their realization until it was too late. While also plays hand in hand with alluding to The Little Mermaid.

Sterling’s main outfit. Just base colours, I may shade it later but I am too lazy and I wanted to post this.

Another outfit batch-- this one is mostly for fun.

The first outfit is the only cannon outfit that Popourri wears, this being her prom dress. I wanted to keep it simple like most of the cannon characters had during prom.

The second, is a silly ‘teammate cosplay’ with Popourri wearing Lapis’ outfit! She doesn’t look half bad //laughs.

And finally, Popourri wearing another, unrevealed teammates outfit. The character is owned by a friend. And is named Yttri (like Yttrium.) He’s based off (you’re going to love this) The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

I didn’t add the final teammate simply because I’m waiting for some final touches on her design ‘v’

Lapis! The fearless adventure-seeking leader of Team LPYS, as well as Popourri’s partner! (The rest of his outfit will be seen shortly!)

His attitude makes you think that he might one day lead his team to death-- but he wasn’t appointed leader for no reason. A fact most people seem to forget about him due to his personality. 

He’s based off Sinbad the Sailor, he as well as Popourri both allude to water-based characters. (Sinbad, and Mermaid respectively.)
