The way she talks about coaching and her passion for it doesn’t cease to amaze me. She has so much love the game and her players it’s crazy. I’m sitting in my office smiling like a crazy fool, because I get to watch her coach tomorrow and that makes me so happy. I thought I was passionate about soccer, however it doesn’t even come close to comparing the love and passion she has for Basketball. ... end rant, could go on for every. I’m embarrassing.
If we're being completely honest with one another I have the worlds biggest crush on Team NB
Leaving for Canada games in seven days!! I'm super scared/excited/pumped.
I got chillz.. And pins. (Canada games adventures: day 8)
Today started off pretty damn well. We got up, without an alarm, at about 7:30 and slowly made our way to breakfast. Had a nice meal from meal hall and then went to the buses for 10 oclock. At this point we took our crammed, sweaty, body heat filled 20 minute bus ride to the pool. Getting to the pool for the first time was pretty exciting, it an amazing facility. We went to get changed and then we hoped in the pool to do our practice. Practice was basically a "swim on your own" kind of meet warm up thing. However, warm up was not interpreted by one, but by two blackouts when the power decided to shut off. That didn't stop us though, because after having to get out twice we still managed to finish our practice. After practice and Noah's stalking of a Yukon kid for a pin, we headed back on to the nasty hot sweaty bus, but multiply the last trip by 100 and you get how sweaty we were this time. The rest of the day was pretty slow. Had lunch, played frisby, played cards but the highlight was the pins. Each province for the games has different pins, and the goal is to trade your provinces pins for another provinces. So far, I've managed to get 12 out of the 13 provinces and territories in the games. Only one remaining is nunavut, which only has 5 wrestlers on their entire team so pitching a deal for pins for them is pretty difficult and at a high price. So anyway, after all the pin trading, we got ready for the opening ceremonies. We had a specific time slot to eat, so we ate and and then headed on to yet another sweaty bus but this time we got to wear hats and jackets.... When we got to the field, we were left waiting in a room, then marched to a indoor track court, then to a hallway, and finally outside to athlete march into opening ceremonies. It was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced. So many people were in the crowd and first one I see, nick of course with sarah and mom not far behind. So after we go finish our march we sit down and watch the ceremonies, highlights: lighting of the torch, crazy gravity-defying parlour stunt men people, the songs, the cheering, and of course: they can't have an opening ceremonies where Alex is, unless you incorporate a grease number, in this case it was "your the one that I want" and I almost shat my pants when it came on. So excited... Oh and Steven Harper stopped by to to give a speech if that matters.. We then headed back after a huge party of a few songs and fireworks and everyone, and I mean everyone (probably around 3000 people) ran to get food. We had a little late night snack and now here we are, headed to bed. Song of the day: "you're the one that I want" from grease. Pretty self explanatory unless you didn't read the above part. Until tomorrow, goodnight and may the odds be ever in your favour. (:
