"Character is forged by our own choices." We all have the ability of choice. However, I know I would get stuck in the loop of being stuck in the cycle of cause and effect. Frustrated when I made a bad choice. This happened, so I feel this way. That happened so I react that way. Never really gaining momentum, motivation, or even forward progress. The cause and effect cycle keeps us stuck where we are. However, the awesome thing I've been learning and really trying to achieve is the ability of choice. Don't know if you're like me and struggle more with the action of choice.... the choice of our attitude, choice of how we react, choice we are wanting to be. Are you stuck in the cause and effect cycle? Or have you been able to make the choice to be better? To be a better person is the ultimate goal for many of us. What choices did you make to ensure you are better today than you were yesterday? #change #positivechange #teamfrontline #choices #bebetter #breakthecycle (at Scottsdale, Arizona) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxr3TjRHsT_nIZA2nbjNsw4RygD9WhEEGMeKz80/?igshid=w5js7zuzey5d
I'm looking for a few couples who are ready to focus on their heath and fitness together. Starting next month (May), we will be having a couples focused health and fitness challenge group. Who's game? When was the last time you've looked at your Day 1 picture? Day 1 when you realized change was needed. Day 1 when you made up your mind and determined to do something different so you can initiate change. Day 1 when you can say, I did this for me! My challenge to you, my call to action, is post what day this is for you, even if it is Day 1! What obstacles have you faced and have you conquered them or have they conquered you. Obstacles such as time, resources, consistency, or food. I never knew a year after my Day 1, I would get to attend a fitness conference with my best friend, co-coach and wife Charlotte Jean Richardson. Together, diving into the need to understand health, fitness, and how we can impact families and those associated with emergency services. Two years later, we've had ups and downs, struggles that have tried to derail us, but with each other, we've stayed committed to reaching out to those who simply need someone to walk with them. #teamfrontline #teamwork #firstresponders #family #worktogether #couplesthatworkouttogether #couplesgoals (at Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwo3kPBDQvF/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ah5cef07t4z7
Time fly's, this month is already over half gone. One quarter of this year is done. Where is your journey taking you? I don't want to wake up one day and realize the journey is coming to an end, and I did nothing to invest in it. Why is health important to me? My wife, my children, the state and communities I serve. But if this is my only focus, than I'm missing out on the details and the scenery. Why is this important to you? Why are you following this page and others? What is the purpose for life's journey and are you making it the best that you can, or do you feel lost and need direction? Don't express the panic I did waking up one day and realizing my life decisions were actually negatively impacting my journey than helping. Want to know more of my story, find out about how I overcame crazy trauma both on and off the job? It's amazing the amount of people I talk to and who are on our team that have walked similar paths. Message below and let's connect! #inspire #makeitpossible #makeadifference #teamfrontline #focusforward (at Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwjuzCnDMVR/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1w47pcmgm8k67
One of the greatest authors learned that fear was necessary to accomplish anything of significance. However, fear is something we are told to stay away from. It's dangerous, or ignore it and stay fast. If you work in emergency services, do you use fear to help you grow or stay away from fear because it's dangerous? Personally, I believe fear is important. Fear can cripple us when we aren't prepared for it, but can also launch us into that next level many of us want to achieve. Fear can cause mental injuries that is so easy for many of us, me included, to push aside and try to forget them. What is your take on fear? We all have one whether it's spiders, traffic stops, blood, or just making it through the shift. Do you feel the effects of fear now or previously and are needing to learn to work through fear? Or is it acceptable to push it aside? #conquerfear #nolimits #emergencyservices #ThinBlueLine #teamfrontline #personalgrowth #workforit (at Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwW2Lwujvlv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=103uz0vrulpij
