Why do both Jughead and Archie call Betty the Perfect Girl Next Door? (S1 Musings)

The two of them are saying it slightly differently of course.

Archie means Betty is Literally Next Door + is Perfect. Betty has perfect grades and a perfect face and so on.

Jughead means Betty embodies the Girl Next Door Type in a Perfect way. And Jughead tends to be a bit off in the way he says things. Girl Next Door means a cute girl who is sexy in an approachable attainable way, but Jughead firmly believes Betty is UNattainable for the likes of him (Oh honey). So what he may have actually meant is the Perfect All American Girl, meaning she does well in school AND is in the social apex group i.e. cheerleader AND has significant extra-curriculars.

Both these boys are wrong.

VERONICA LODGE IS THE PERFECT ONE.

The one with the perfect make up and outfits. The one with perfect manners and the most pragmatic outlook. The one who has the suggestions, solutions, contacts. She also gets great grades and is selected cheerleader (Betty is just her plus one) and has tons of extra curriculars. But more than that - Veronica strives to be the adult, the bigger person, and come up with a win for every situation. She actually strives for perfection and gets closer to it than most.

There is nothing that Betty says or does that marks her as perfect.

She is white and blonde and beautiful.

Is that why both Jughead and Archie call her perfect? If so, tut tut.
