Even if he's weaker, he can probably overwhelm his opponent, like in his original battle, by summoning many bones/blasters and his tears, which are acid. How can you counteract acid? He can't die because he's a ghost, making him practically immortal. If his puppet body is destroyed, he can replace it and return to the fight, sort of like the player. I would say he is one of the stronger Sanses. Just his attack/magical output isn't very strong. Thoughts?
This was the first ever ask I got actually pffff. Felt so flattered when someone came to Tear's defense in my asks immediately. Before answering this, because it's from 2024 at a point Tear makes first appearance, I have to state Tear's info sheet didn't have most of the info currently available. It was hidden due to spoilers.
Tear's main problem isn't that they can't be a menace to fight, it's that they always hold back. Pretending to be someone else and shaping attacks (their tears) into bones and blasters take priority, even in Papyrus's death. Because Tear still sees him.
If Tear wasn't shaping their attacks, the way they fight wouldn't be as restricting. His emotions also affect it. They are just... scared. Never there to stop you, you just catch up to them running away and hiding from you. Even if it's not a player they are fighting, Tear would run away.
In reality, hypothetically, Tear CAN overwhelm you with the amount of attack spamming and its speed. Even if it's less damage per hit. You cannot block liquid magic efficiently, just like how liquid magic cannot block other attacks efficiently. Judgment hall is pretty much covered in puddles of what they cried away, and it would still hurt to touch. Mind your step. Tear, while not fused, has full immunity to physical attacks and only magic works against them. When fused, all damage types hurt. BUT they can very much die no matter the scenario. A ghost monster is still a monster with a soul
