My Thoughts on Jakarta Theater
After more than a year, I’m finally back! In this after-long-hiatus-post, I want to share my experience going to an amazing place I’ve visited at the beginning of the year. Some of you may not know this place, Teater Jakarta (Jakarta Theater). Teater Jakarta is inside Taman Ismail Marzuki, alson with the Planetarium. Well, most of you might know Planetarium, but not Teater Jakarta. Don’t worry, I did not too lol
As we know from its name, it is built to held any show. This is my first time going to “real” theater, so I feel so amazed! It is so beautiful here and there, I do really love it huhu The building has three theaters: big, medium, and small. And, yes, the theater is owned by government.
If you go there in afternoon, just to look here and there, you can see some people do practice for show. For me before, I see some girls practice dance. It was so interesting and it made me want to learn dancing again. It is seriously one of my biggest regret that I stop dancing and doing some arts. I chose to say yes to my mom asking me focusing on study. I stopped dancing and drawing. Now, when I have more freedom, I’m already too stiff to do that again T_T
So, I choose to do something a bit different but not to far from both dancing and drawing. For replacing dancing, I do some aerobic dance. Alone. I’m not that rich to take some aerobic class huhu And for drawing, I just do some coloring therapy using books that popularly being sold nowadays. Both are so fun, seriously!
Anyway, as I did not go there for holiday, but for campus activity, I did learn something. Yes, I learn a bit, fewer than a bit that you think, about light and acoustic design for theater. It is so interesting and it opens my mind that being those two designer will be good for me! As I love art too, isn’t that support one to another? I should try that, shouldn’t I?
I think I have nothing else to share lol updating my tumblr is my first resolution this year. I hope I can do it well. Happy very-late-new year anyway!
