It’s been a while since I’ve had a phishing email that is supposed to be from Amazon. I admit, this actually looks a lot closer to being legit than others I’ve had. I might have been fooled if I hadn’t read the whole thing and didn’t know that no company I know of actually does this. It only matters at time of purchase and even then, the email comes merely as a note that the card can’t be run for any number of errors (such as expiration). And? Not being able to access your account when you’re supposed to be fixing a problem with billing? That’s just silly. Sites make that possible exactly so you can avoid these kinds of emails.
That combined with apparently the mailing address being ‘amazon.com’ I--.
I hate trying to read PDFs and I hate how many companies apparently really love their PDFs.
PDF stands for Perfectly Dumb Filetype and Predictably Delayed File. It takes forever to load, it doesn’t remember your spot, it’s icky.
It’s ICKY I SAY.
aahhh another paypal spoof email except this time while they actually have pretty good grammar, one of the dead giveaways was the lack of an actual link for ‘view this email in your browser’ as well as any kind of footer/signature lmao
I’m gonna cry I feel like I’m back in that one computer class i was forced to take in college that consisted of shit I learned back when I was 6 years old.
Site: redirects me w/o my permission to a giant guilt trippy kinda ‘omg you’re using an AD BLOCKER??? HOW DARE YOU. You can only see our content when you turn it off, thanks’ page
me: You know maybe if you hadn’t done either of those things I would have. Now I simply wish to refuse to even look at the name of your site.
i hate hate hate when people ask me how to do something and then completely ignore me. Especially when they’re also asking me to avoid actually opening a fucking manual and reading what they’re supposed to do. Why fucking bother asking me then!!!
TIL the Department of Homeland Security is constantly behind when it comes to technology and that they don’t have enough tech people for protecting our infrastructure for power and other utilities. Instead they have non-techs monitoring shit.
Black Sky will happen because baby boomers in charge of these things don’t see any reason to have actual techs who super specialize in preventing hackers.
