The Thneed does not possess any orifice through which to consume food, and furthermore does not seem to need external sustenance to sustain itself. It is theorized the Thneed may be an autotrophic single-celled organism, but we have not yet finished the tests to prove this.
love
We here at Tech-D can not confirm nor deny the romantic disposition of the Thneed. What are we to say what love is, and how would we label such a concept on a thing as a Thneed? However, this does not mean we aren’t attempting to get to the bottom of this query, and are, in fact, running multiple tests in multiple zones on the feelings of the Thneed. A research centre in Tibet has released clues on it possibly being an opthalmophile, but we have yet to reproduce these results.
communicate telepathically!
The Thneed's ability to communicate telepathically has been proven true. We have come to understand that the way we perceive the Thneed’s form is imprinted on our minds by whatever strange force that inhabits the article of strings and stitching. It decides what we see and how we see it, which is one reason it can do all that it can. Not because it was built that way, but because it chooses to. Further research is still being done on this matter.
Stop deforestation
The Thneed does not hold any moral dispositions on deforestation, so is uninclined to do anything about the matter. It also isn’t a particularly potent figure, so if it were to hold a movement against the removal of forests, it would probably not scrounge up a very large follower base.
Dance
The Thneed lacks any dancing skill, as well as feet to dance with. So even if it had skill it would have no way to use it. It is also discouraged that one dances with a Thneed, due to its assortment of potential entanglement hazards.
bake a cake
The Thneed is incapable of baking a cake, since it has no opposable thumbs and severely lacks the required knowledge to perform many tasks in the kitchen. However, there is some controversy as to whether it could be a cake. We are still looking into that prospect.
walk
Thneeds, as they lack the superior motor functions of animate objects, can not walk. Not on their own, and technically not even with the aid of another creature that can.
