Been a minute since I’ve done some doodles! Felt like I’d been neglecting Jade for a while- and wanted to figure out how she might look when she’s a little older.
When I first came up with her, I made her the same age as me (or thereabouts- certainly more established in any rate). It’s weird to think that it’s been almost a decade since then- she seems so much younger in comparison now. So I skipped ahead maybe up to two decades to see what she might be like when she’s a bit older than I am.
She’s more tired then- probably been through some stuff, raised/is raising a family, still keeps in pretty good shape physically but likely has traded field work for academia. Sometimes needs reading glasses (that’s around the age my mom needed hers)
Included @techmomma ‘s Eddy since I felt like doodling him too, and illustrating the change in dynamic as Jade ages, from being something of a mentor she looks up to and a source of information, to a colleague she can better relate to and reminisce with.
