Well then, it’s a good thing I come prepared.” With that, Jesse pulls out of his back pocket a simple PICK LOCKING KIT.

whatever she thought was after her, it had to be a nightmare. she’d surely wake up any moment and all of this would be no more than a figment of her imagination, right? plus, it’s not like whatever that thing was out there was real. it couldn’t be. more people would know about it. yes, there might be widespread panic, but only for a little while. kind of like the panic kristy was feeling right now, watching this man hold the door closed with his body against whatever was trying to fucking eat them right now, while she just looked on helplessly.
“the —?” it took her brain a moment to catch up, but she did grab it and slam it under the doorknob beside him, hoping like hell it held up.
