99 Reasons Why Email Rocks
I can't fully explain what was going on in my mind when Justine Jordan broke the news to me in May at Silverpop's user conference that my idea (the title for this post) had been selected to be a session at the Litmus Email Design Conference (aka #TEDC14) in August. My reaction went something like ...
oh. @#$!#$%. (but in the best way possible!)
The premise is pretty simple - I felt pretty confident that somehow or another, it would be possible to compile a list of 99 reasons why those of us who wear the 'email marketing person' hat think that what we do is not only important but pretty freakin' cool. The task at hand is to make sure that everyone attending the conference walks away with words that enable us to name the very reasons why we love what we do and why others should be interested (especially our family members and friends who ask us what we do for a living).
Thankfully, 400 of my (soon to be) email marketing BFFs attending #TEDC14 will be participating in the creation of this list. But, if you can't make it to #TEDC14 but want to chip in a couple reasons, I'd love to include them in the final product. You can chime in using this form (http://bit.ly/99reasonswhyemailrocks) or you can tweet to me with your reason in 140 characters or less.
The count down is on for when this brainchild will all come together (Jack Bauer style - you do the beeps yourself).
I can't wait to see how it all comes together and hope many others can be a part of this story.
