Of course Lottie always enjoyed a party, but this time was different. There was no denying that. She couldn’t help the all be it slightly giddy excitement that bubbled in the pit of her stomach at what the night could hold. The most thrilling part? That she’d get to spend it with Teddy. After the hospital, it felt like Lottie had been been playing catch up. From classes to herbology club and the upcoming Gryffindor quiditch game, missing a week in your last year wasn’t ideal. So much so that she’d let her birthday slip past and hadn’t spent nearly as much time as she would have liked to with her friends and especially with Teddy. Which really- didn’t help with the small anxiety as she tried to get ready. Because of course she was nervous, it was her and Teddy. After everything all that she wanted was for it to be special. Particularly as it was the first real night that they had together.
Truth be told, Lottie was playing nervously with the hem of her tulle skirt, straightening it with a shaky breath as if adjusting her delicate feather head band for the fifteenth time could make her feel any more steady. Though as soon as her eyes caught a glimpse of him waiting for her outside the dorms, her shoulders sank and a soft smile tugged gently onto her features; meeting her eyes with an equally bright twinkle. There was that moment. All of her worries faded into the background, the soft flutter in her chest and light pink casting over her soft cheeks - which of course felt like a permanent occurrence around him now-. Everything faded and it was just him. Clad in shimmering blue, with the usual glimmer to him that Lottie always saw as he smiled, warm, handsome and Merlin she might have to pinch herself: her date for the evening.
Her hand raising to tug a piece of charmed iridescent hair behind her ear, the shimmering feathers fluttered by her arm as it raised from her side, making her way over to him with a warmth already cast over her gentle features. “Well don’t you look wonderful-” Lottie spoke gently as she offered her hand to him. “I hope you’re ready for no doubt lots of spooks, pumpkin juice and hopefully if I can convince you that is, for you to show me some more of those secret dance skills of yours.” @teddybeartonks
