on a completely different note, i’ve noticed this trend a lot in various groups of marginalized people where oppressors try and “white-knight” for us and spot out “the fakes” in our communities. The fake disabled who “just want a free ride”, the fake gays who “want to feel special”. like for some reason, oppressor identities always seem to think that these very few and far between “fakes” are the sole damn reason we face ANY problems AT ALL.
I could give less of a shit if someone is faking an illness or sexuality! It literally does not affect me and my own identities AT ALL. You all act like these “fakes” start the stereotypes for us, make it harder, make us more deserving of shitty treatment as if u poor, poor oppressors have to keep an eye out for the “real minorities” in order not to get “duped” or whatever you think is gonna happen. and you never fucking listen to us! we tell you we don’t care if someone is faking, we don’t care.
But, of course, yall use this “fake conspiracy” as a distraction from the real problem (which is you) and a tool to keep marginalized people fighting with each other. You like to place the problem on the inside and then pat yourselves on the back like you actually fucking helped us in the slightest. When in actuality, all you’re doing is setting and raising impossible standards for the “model minority” role. So we have to keep fighting for this standard in order to be considered Good. But the cycle is never ever ending and we are forever in a circle of misery. That works completely in your benefit, it establishes power against us.
So it’s all fucking excuses, man. These white knights don’t give a shit about us. Don’t let them feel good about themselves. They’d rather talk over you than let you voice your own say. Living up to their standards of what THEY think a minority should act like will only hurt you. Fuck them honestly.
