He's Back! The infamous body camera-toting RACIST super Herchin Ablai is still harassing Black tenants at 60 Turner Place. According to 60 Turner Place Tenants Association: " The super followed a Black tenant into the street, all the while filming her as she was pushing the laundry cart to her car to get her groceries. Other older Black tenant was leaning against the building in the front. He told her she needed to move as "She is not allowed to stand there." This tenant has health issues. In both these cases, the white people do it all the time, and to the best of our knowledge, he says and does nothing." Enough is Enough! Come out this Saturday, November 11th 11am -1:30pm 60 Turner Place, Brooklyn, 11218 for Emergency Direct Action against racist tenant harassment in Flatbush https://www.facebook.com/events/386351208465582 & Please CALL (718) 739-4262 NOW & let ADI Management know that the COMMUNITY stands with the 60 Turner Place Tenant Association and wants their racist super fired immediately! Let Herchin Ablai and Herbert Donner know that #BrooklynisnotforSale

The 486 Brooklyn Ave Tenant Association Needs OUR Support ! They want their landlord Brooklyn Equities to Build a Ramp!
In February 2017, an elderly resident of 486 Brooklyn Avenue fell on the stairs and was injured. (see video) https://youtu.be/A7ZItzkJkTA
The New York City Commission's Human Rights Law requires that reasonable accommodations be made to all residential buildings and public spaces to make them accessible to people with disabilities. We estimate that 25% of the building’s population are elderly residents and/or people with permanent and temporary disabilities . Many other tenants struggle with the lack of accessible of the building when transporting laundry/grocery carts, strollers, bicycles or while using walkers, canes, crutches, etc.
Does Brooklyn Equities think it is right to break the law by discriminating against elders and people with disabilities? Over 60 residents of 486 Brooklyn Avenue have sent in a petition to Brooklyn Equities requesting the following demands : - The installation of a concrete ramp with handrails outside the building providing wheelchair access to the building lobby, as required by the New York City Commission Human Rights Law - The installation of a concrete ramp with handrails within the lobby for the tenants and guests who live in apartments A3 - A14 who do not have access to elevators. - That complete construction within 90 days from the date of delivery of this petition. -Include The 486 Brooklyn Avenue Tenant Association in the decision-making of the ramp construction and that all 486 Brooklyn Avenue tenants are regularly notified in writing about the progress of the ramp construction. This part of overall campaign to stop the eviction and displacement of rent-stabilized tenants from 486 Brooklyn Ave . For example Brooklyn Equities has not provided extermination to 486 Brooklyn Ave for over 6 months which has resulted in a building-wide infestation of rodents and roaches. To see details and pictures : https://beforeitsgone.co/stories/L4u6Wv Meanwhile several tenants have been given 30-day notice to vacate their apartments or have been taken to court for non-payment even though they have paid their rent. Please support the 486 Brooklyn Ave Tenant Association in the struggle to have a safe, affordable and accessible place to live . #MyNYCLandlord #NoEvictionZone #TenantsFightBack #BeforeItsGone #TakeitBack #BrooklynIsNotforSale
6/12 : Important UPDATE on The struggle at 486 Brooklyn Ave against Tenant Harassment by #BrooklynEquities
#MyNYCLandlord
#NoEvictionZone
#TenantsFightBack #BeforeItsGone #TakeitBack #BrooklynIsNotforSale
Over the weekend Equality for Flatbush received word that the tenants in apartment in E15 came home to find a notice on their door stating that they were arrears for 3 months of rent and needed to pay it by 6/12 or they would be evicted .
The tenants of E15 have lived in their apartment for 40 years, have proof that they have been paying the rent and do not owe thousands of dollars to Brooklyn Equities . They are also not the only long-time tenants in the building who have received 30-Day notices to vacate or have been falsely accused of owning rent by Brooklyn Equities .
This is clearly a tactic of TENANT HARASSMENT by Brooklyn Equities to terrorize long-time tenants by falsely claiming they are behind in the rent and must vacate the apartments or they will be taken to court for eviction. The 486 Brooklyn Ave Tenant Association is actively fighting these tactics by working with lawyers at The Community Development Project of the Urban Justice Center to assure the rights of these rent-stabilized tenants are no longer violated by Brooklyn Equities .
The 486 Brooklyn Ave Tenant Association continue to ask people to CALL & REPORT Brooklyn Equities to 311 for not providing extermination to 486 Brooklyn Ave in Crown Heights for over 6 months which has resulted in a building-wide infestation of rodents and roaches. (Attached are pictures)

1/27 ACTION ALERT: BREAKING : #ADIManagement is charging the tenants of #60TurnerPlace a Major Capital Improvement (MCI) fee for new windows, in retaliation for tenants who called 311, HPD, or DHCR for the lack repairs #NoEvictionZone #MyNYCLandlord #TenantsFightback #Flatbush
This is unacceptable. Every tenant has a right to solicit help for city agencies when their landlord is unresponsive or neglectful. Equality for Flatbush has obtained an email (see below) where #HerbDonner, the owner of ADI Management is trying to make the 60 Turner Place Tenant Association act as a “middle man” to prevent tenants from going directly to the city with their complaints, instead of addressing the concerns of his residents. If the tenants stop reporting ADI Management to city agencies Herb Donner said, he would consider it a “Good Faith” gesture.
Yet, despite this request for collaboration, Herb Donner has not fulfilled any of the demands of the 60 Turner Place Tenant Association:
He has not honored the 12/31/2016 deadline to fire #HerchinAblai, the racist body camera toting super who has used Anti-Black racial slurs, spat at multiple tenants, locked two children in the laundry room and neglects the most basic upkeep of the building. Currently Herchin Ablai is barred from entering (12) 60 Turner Place apartments to make repairs including one household who obtained a legal restraining order against him.
Herbert Donner continues to harass tenants at 60 Turner Place by not making repairs
Herbert Donner has not ceased raising rents for basic improvements
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Call (718) 739-4262 ADI Management/Herb Donner, and demand he: Fire the racist super Herchin Ablai, whose abuse of tenants is well documented (details below) Not issue MCI (major capital improvement) fees for basic, necessary improvements Stop all forms of tenant harassment at 60 Turner Place
ADI Phone Number: Please also sign the petition below. https://campaigns.organizefor.org/petitions/stop-racism-tenant-harassment-fire-herchin-alba-now
Background : Herb Donner disregarded a 12/31/2016 deadline demanded by the 60 Turner Place Tenant Association to FIRE Herchin Ablai and hire a respectful replacement. The tenants of 60 Turner Place have documented abuses such as: Calling Black tenants racial slurs. Spitting at tenants Locking children in the laundry room Neglecting basic upkeep
He is banned from over 12 apartments in the building from making repairs, and the list continues to grow. (see petition for more details on his abuses)
The building is in disrepair. Instead of fixing old windows as requested in a letter sent to management in October 2016, management has blatantly ignored this request, and instead made a decision to replace windows at a cost to the tenants.
Attached is Herb Donner’s email to a tenant about the Tenant Association:
From: Herb Donner <[email protected]> Date: January 12, 2017 at 3:32:36 PM EST To: H Duke Subject: Re: Follow up on Tenant meeting
Ms. Duke,
I am taking this opportunity to respond to both of your e-mails.
First, Replacement of building windows does constitute a Major Capital Improvement. Accordingly, the appropriate filing will be made with the Division of Housing and Community Renewal.
In regard to scheduling a meeting - Your last e-mail of 2016, instead of looking for common ground for us to work together made a specific timed demand. I had hoped we were past that.
At this time we are looking to establish contact with individual tenants who have the best interest of the entire building as their goal. Your 60 Turner Place Tenants' Association could fill that function. For that to be the case we would need an indication of Good Faith on your part. For example, there are a number of tenants who have elected to communicate with us through third parties, specifically 311, HPD or DHCR. If the 60 Turner Place Tenants' Association would step in to that position and we were afforded the opportunity to address complaints directly, we would consider that a good faith gesture.
Please let me know what your thoughts are in this regard.
Herb Donner

Activist and blogger Louis Flores reports about his experience in Queens Housing Court against his landlord, Herbert Donner of ADI Management, the former business partner of Leonard Spodek (aka "Dracula Landlord").
Besides filing a false petition against me, my Landlord filed a false affidavit, saying that I was served with a Rent Demand, which I was not.
