So one of my friends is a marine biology major, and she loves telling people how octopuses are able to taste with their tentacles. And this is wonderful for octopus-inspired or just generally tentacled preds.
Like, in general tentacles, tendrils, etc. are great. Perfect for hugging, just wrapping all around you, letting you be either the little spoon, big spoon, or both at once. And the pred gets to taste you all over at the same time, optionally with suckers gently suckling on you.
Going further, getting swallowed up by a tentacle. There’s a mouth on the end that can easily slurp you up and is likely pretty slimy and incredibly squishy. And the pred can taste you the whole way down, purring in delight and giving you a nice massage as you’re pushed towards the stomach (or an equally plush and squishy storage pouch).
