It wasn't until recently it was brought to my attention that the lead singer of Jack Mannequin Andrew McMahon (also known as the solo artist of Andrew McMahon in the wilderness) had a documentary called Dear Jack which was a moving film regarding the cancer he fought shortly after his release of Everything in Transit. Everything in Transit is an impeccable album; I grew up listening to the lyrics and sounds having no deeper understanding of what his music meant. Although he wasn't diagnosed with cancer until after he released the album, the lyrics show he was in deep pain and frustration which is coincidental. The documentary was unbelievable and it was something that not only made me appreciate his work, but also the artist he is. Andrew created the Dear Jack foundation to raise money for cancer patients. I think the mindset he carries and the love for music is unreal and he is truly a roll model. Yesterday morning ticket sales went up for the 10 years and transit tour which is a small tour Andrew and the rest of Jack’s mannequin decided to put on. Considering these will be the last dates Jacks Mannequin will be playing live ever this is kind of a big deal, lets just say I bought tickets with no hesitation. I live Life for unforgettable moments and I know this will be one of them.
