Did the research find out why dissociation so high in your homeland?
Yes but also it is not difficult to deduce, the numbers are more what interested me about the research! It was a little amusing that the researcher was surprised about it. I know I tend to reveal very little about myself but I think I've mentioned at Some Point Somewhere that my home country is...kind of not great. It's very much still recovering from war and uhm...what do you call when the military shuts the country down? Also tons of terrorism, violent dictatorship, and a sizeable chunk of the country's economy stems from trafficking in its various forms. Like to the point where a politician straight up "jokingly" offered it to a foreigner on national tv and there are several organizations in some countries dedicated to helping Just people from my country escape those situations. Nobody else. It's that prevalent. There's also a thing where the USA developed New and More Fun torture techniques in my country. And we have like...5 whole psych hospitals in the entire country (it's genuinely around there I am not exaggerating).
Given all that it's not very surprising that about a third of a non-clinical population had moderate/severe levels of dissociation.
