Our new tiny spiny isn’t very bright

I’ve wanted to share my son with the world for a while and I’m sick and I’ve got nothing better to do

I found him at church and I had never seen a Texas spiny lizard before so this little guy looked like a tiny dragon to me.

I saved him from being eaten by chickens and my mom allowed me to keep him. He was pretty jumpy at first, but immediately ate the mealworms we got him.

I read that Texas Spinies are vanity pets, and that they don’t like being handled, and become disheartened. I’m very affectionate with pets because I have a lot of love to give.

But after almost four months he’s really warmed up to us. He doesn’t run away when I reach into his tank, and he enjoys being out and about.

He’s become incredibly lazy though, so most of the time he’ll just sit around. He really likes my mom, and will sit in her hair while she works.

He’s also surprisingly expressive for a lizard.
