Huh. Roathe keeps track of how many times you've fought him per cycle, and his dialogue changes accordingly
Ok, thoughts on the Old Peace (lotsa spoilers for the quest):
First off, @detaylor please let the entire DE team know they did a fantastic job as usual, holy crap. Cooking as always.
I could walk around and just look at Tauron Academy and Perita forever, I took so many screenshots of just the environment and statues
Music is, as always, spectacular. Repeated use of the lullaby and its motif throughout really helped with the emotional impact. Also, that rock theme when we transfer into Uriel to bring hell gave me shivers.
Relatedly the new sound design was also fantastic, loving the new VFX including that Garand ping.
I didn't think I could hate Ballas more than I did. And yet.
Margulis' role is unclear, but that line about her trusting Archimedean Itzam more than the Orokin was certainly telling. Her main goal seems to be protecting the Tenno, all else be damned, and I can certainly respect her for that. Also, I think this was the first time we've seen her modeled with her blindness?
Adis is such a compelling character, and the fact that the Taublooms give Sentients true, well, sentience is such a good plot point. If I'm remembering the trailer for the New Peace correctly, they may have re-evolved or are able to regrow, so it'll be interesting to see if we can use that with the current sentients or maybe we'll see something with Narmer.
I'm pretty sure Adis and I are married now. Or something akin to that, that graduation ceremony was pretty intimate.
Amar is SO pretty! Best puppy. Pity we didn't get to see Boreal or Nira, but I can still hope.
Interesting where we were in the Sanctum, given that we're apparently deep down, but somewhere with automated defenses that can still be activated.
The poor Cavia reverting... a mixed blessing? I know Tagfer originally wanted that, but surely we've been through enough now.
The Ballas defense segment was so hard holy shit (both morally and mechanically), damn those teleporting Anarchs.
I wonder what beef he has with us (the Prime Tenno) specifically, or if it's just the fact that we're Tenno in general.
Itzam was so doomed and I expected it. Can't have any shining examples of Sentient exceptionalism, especially not one as high as a Archimedean.
Why are the hijacked Prime's so... tall? Protea was at least 50% bigger than Excalibur, which can't be right.
My favorite scene that I want to emphasize is Loid stepping into our memory with the line "It happened. And I'm so sorry, but we can't change any of it." That line hit hard, because some part of me was still like "surely I can do this differently. Surely if I do the Right Things (tm) then this can be fixed. But it can't be. And I think that's important to acknowledge.
The last fight against Hunhullus Adis hurt. They're (He's?) so angry, rightfully so, and there's nothing we can really do to fix that except let the anger flow.
I wonder how long a single "charge" of a Taubloom lasts. It's definitely not forever, because I'm assuming that's what Adis' little recharge break was for.
Actually come to think of it, what differentiates the sentience of say, Hunhow from that of Adis? They both seem to be free of a hivemind, although I suppose Hunhow can still give orders to "lesser" sentient drones...
I'm glad Adis was able to pass as themselves in our arms instead of reverting to a drone. We did kill him, which was one of my fears, but it was at least as himself.
I like how Galastra still wasn't right even if the Orokin were wrong. She still wanted the war to restart, just differently than Ballas and co did.
Valdur is an oddly sympathetic character given how little he appeared. We really gave him the "don't come to school tomorrow"
Ripping through Tauron was both cathartic and yet sad, given its status as a monument to Sentient collaboration. A casualty of righteous fury.
Overall, amazing. Can't wait for the next one.
god can you imagine trying to make the Teacher quest or explain modding when this was the fuckin damage chart?
"Cold is bad against Infested, but only some of them. For others its really good against their armor but also not sometimes only on Deimos."
"Blast is good against fossils (!?) but bad against machines. But ok against robots, which are different machines for some reason."
"Radiation is good against infested armor but also bad against other infested armor, but great against shields"
Teshin out here having fucking aneurysms trying to explain the damage chart
I do love how tired Nef Anyo sounds when comming us in the Nokko missions. Like. Why are we defending this fungal colony in particular? Well you see it's because we hate you personally and want you to suffer, hope that clears things up :).
