what's your perfect study set up?

personally, I need a cup of coffee, or a good cup of tea and a little snack , an instrumental music playlist (I can’t focus if I hear another voice), I need light, lots of lights. I like to wear comfy clothes and to pull my hair out of my face in a bun or a ponytail. on my desk, everything have to be organized, I hate when it’s messy so I take a few minutes to get everything at the right place. I also have colorful pens/pencils/highlighters, I study better when there’s color. I usually study at home or at the city library. when I take breaks, I like to watch a youtube video or to go on social media. I think that’s it, please share with the studyblr community what works for you, it can be very useful, use the tags #mystudysetup and #textbooksandtea (which was the one who started this really great idea) 🌸💗

Study Set Up!

I thought I would talk about my perfect study set up, as textbooksandtea openly asked studyblrs.

My perfect set up would probably be in my university room at my big desk (I’m home for Easter at the moment and I miss my desk so much), facing the window. It might seem weird, but I quite like when it’s raining outside, as I like the sound of rain, and feeling cosy inside, whereas when the weather is really sunny and warm, I just wish I was outside enjoying it. I like to study with a nice hot cup of tea and wearing comfy clothes like leggings and a big jumper, preferably early in the morning, as this is when I’m most productive.

Most importantly I need everything really quite. I actually like to study with what I can best explain as “bad summer weather”. The only sound I like when I need to concentrate is the sound of raindrops against my windows. Rain in summer is perfect because I can leave my windows open for a cold summer breeze. I have this blanket with sleeves which I can wear and just having a cup of tea nearby makes everything perfect. Sometimes I like to study with background music or music from a movie or series. Like Game of thrones, Harry Potter or Lord of The Rings. This music makes me feel like a can handle everything I want!

When the weather is good, I like to study outside in the garden or on our terrace. With fresh fruit and water. I drink water like crazy when I need to study. But too often people are mowing their lawns and then I can’t focus anymore.

What's your perfect study set up?

So textbooksandtea asked this question with her own reply (go see - it sounds heavenly!) so I thought I would give this a go too.

For me, my perfect study set up would be at my desk, with a mug of earl grey tea or a latte, early in the morning, way earlier than I normally wake up, so I feel extra hopeful and optimistic and productive. The air is cool sunlight is slowly streaming in so there’s some warmth.

Thank you textbooksandtea for tagging me and I apologize for taking so long to answer. I am supposed to write 11 questions of my own and tag 11 other people, however, I'm not going to do that :). 1) What subject(s) do you study? Law (at university level). This year I had the following subjects: Roman law, European Union law, Economy, Introduction to civil law, History of law, Sociology of law, Introduction to jurisprudence, Constitutional law. 2) How do you like to wind down? Listening to music, teaching my Border Collie tricks, fitness, watching TV shows, reading books, coffee with friends, playing games,... When personal problems bug me, I study. 3) How many years do you plan to be in education for? Four more are a must for me, then we'll see.. Will never stop learning though ;). 4) What is your life goal? I don't have just one - to be a person with a great character (positive, inspirational, strong, interesting,...), to pass the bar exam, become a prosecutor and protect the people and animals who can't protect themselves, to make a change in how animals are legally protected here,... 5) Favourite book? Hehe, again, I don't have just one:  Charlotte Brönte - Jane Eyre Charlotte Brönte - Wuthering Heights Christian Jacq - Ramses (collection) Agatha Christie - And Then There Were None Agatha Christie - Curtain Agatha Christie - The Moving Finger Arthur Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes (collection) Albert Camus - The Stranger 6) Cats or dogs? Undecided because I love both. Got a cat and a dog as well. 7) Do you use a well known note taking system, or do you use your own method? I usually use my own note taking system, though I did try to stick with the Cornell method, but it just wasn't 100% for me. :) 8) Did/do you enjoy your school days? Looking back now, yes, I did. Wish I could go back to high school - it was easy. Now it's not. ;) 9) Do you find time to keep up hobbies whilst studying? Yes. I don't have hobbies that take up too much time or travelling or anything like that. It's hard sometimes, but if I didn't keep up with them, I'd go crazy. 10) Did you always enjoy education? Do you enjoy it now? There were some parts I did (English, History, Math,...) and some I didn't (Physics). it's the same now. Some subjects interest me (Roman law), some don't (Economy). 11) Would you say you have/had a good relationship with your teachers? In high school, mostly yes. In university professors don't really remember us that well, but I've never had any problems with them. I don't kiss ass though, if the questions was asking that. ;)
