🚨Laws of Vos - Punishment and corrections 🚨

While most in Vos are well cared for and allowed to live their functions the way they wish, this does not stop crimes being committed. Intriguing and intellectual property theft are the most common and murders are almost unheard of, but only because the successful ones are expertly executed. Only amateurs get caught. In Vos, even crimes are committed with an artistic and poetic flare.

Sometimes entire prefectures have been locked down, rationed and put on probation, if the crime is notorious enough.

House arrest, community service and demerits are punishments for petty crimes. The offending seeker is also forced to wear a humiliating, ostentatious paint job as a further behavioural deterent.

Vos is the only city-state where one can be fined for disruptive paint jobs. Too reflective? Fined. Wearing another factions color? Fined. Wearing restricted colors?Fined.

If you want a crime committed but don't have the resources to do so, or want it traced back to you, you can always grease some servos from the factionless ghetto. But be warned, they may be lawless but they stick together.

Vos isn't one for wasting resources but if a crime is committed that threatens the security of Vos and it's people a few things could happen:

1. The culprit is tried by a jury of their peers and sentenced.

2. The culprit is risked away and intergrated for more information, then effective disposed of.

3. The culprit is tried then discreetly given an occupation that bests utilizes their conniving ways.

4. The culprit is tried and exiled from Vos never to return.

🎐Vosian Burials🎭

Cybertronians as a whole do not have a good grasp or understanding of death. They know what death is but its more of a far off concept. They are near immortal and usually only die of unnatural causes.

While cybertronian do have burials an funerals they are usually only reserved for noteworthy bots and close friends. The bodies of unknown deceased are stripped of any viable resources and melted down for materials. Cold but efficiant.

Vosians are strangely sentimental toward their dead compared to the rest of Cybertron. It’s stems from their philosophy of an individual mech being a host of new ideas and innovations yet to be known to the world. They see the death of a mech as the death of a creative force and what they could have contributed to the world. So they grieve, if not for the mech than for what they could have been.

Vos has a very unique way of laying their deceased to rest. There is limited space that can be reserved for this emotional and very sacrosanct activity so instead they build the towers dedicated to the housing the remains of decreased fliers.

In the past these structures were carved into mountains side and hill slopes and are still visited and maintained to this day.

When a vosian deactivates their frame is cleaned and placed in a sterile environment until their file is pulled and what their wishes for the burial were determined. It is mandatory that fliers in Vos have have their last wishes filed away after they complete their right of passage into Adulthood. Before then it is their creators’ responsibility.

Traditionally the spark case is removed and set aside for ceremonial purposes and the frame is melted down into a vaguely urn shape. These urns-remains can be a variety of sized depending on the frame type of the deceased. A holographic visage of them is inserted into the urn which would be projected above it. Finally the urn-remains are then engraved with the deceased’s designation and any information the family wants to add.

The sparkcase is considered the center of a mechs being and it treated with utmost respect. It is gently cleaned, placed on pillow of soft material and set on and alter for viewing.

After the viewing is over and mourning has officially began, the spark case can be turned into a variety of things. Theses things can subsist of: beads, diamonds, glass sculptures with spark dust inclusions, iridescent ink, jewelry, paints, or simply scattered to the winds. It all depends of what the mech’s last wishes were or the families.

The urn-remains are taken to a reserved columbarian tower and interned there. The family of the deceased mech are free to visit any time of day as the Columbarian is open all day, everyday.

Once grieving has began, mechs closest to the deceased are expected to completely forego any colors. At this time mechs strip any color from their frames, leaving only their unpainted frames. On occasion a grieving mech might paint exaggerated tear trails down their face plate in purple or blue (depending on the color of the energon in the universe).

The mourning is a private and grief stricken time and most mechs place themselves in self imposed house arrest for the durations of the process. Relying on close friends and volunteers for their needs. Very little of this process is performative and it would be suspicious if one didn’t to any of this. The grieving period is longer for the immediate family and shorter for external family and friends.

Vosians are well aware that a departed’s spark returns to the well of sparks so most gifts for the departed are messages from their family. Most write about how much they miss them or tell them how things have changed. These letters are then destroyed mostly by burning to represent the messages being transported to the well.

In chinese culture it is faux pas to show respect to children and youths so they do not have funerals for them. The deactivation of a hatchling is a tragedy in and of itself and most vosian creators don’t have the strength to hold a burial for the sparkling. The little one’s ceremony is held by their grand creators or aunts or uncles, their creators are not expected to attend.

Vosians are an ancestor worshipping mechanisms. They to respect the elders as they are the ones that founded their great city and passed down their knowledge to their descendants. If only because their original progenitor is very likely to still be soaring in heavens with them. The ancients vosians have lived countless of lifetimes and imparted their wisdom to dozens of generations so their deactivations are treated a celebrations rather that sad occasions.

Attendees of burials and funerals are expected to wear varies shades of grey (pun NOT intended) and to avoid more joyful colors. But if funerals was for an Elder then shades of pink are allowed.

There are ancients Houses in Vos that have been established since its founding that each have a massive family tombs outside of cities limits. The mountains and hills they occupy are considered sacred by Vosians.
