Hunter Levin + Character Tropes
Dane sat on the bench nearest the entrance to the police precinct, signature sunglasses pairing well with his gifted Dodgers jacket. Normally he'd stay as far from the building as possible. Why am I here? He knew that answer in his heart of hearts. He'd heard that an officer had been hit during the attack at Triton's Palace and he was wondering -- not worrying, just wondering -- if it had been Hunter Levin, the white knight cop he'd had such a hard time shaking a couple weeks prior. Why the man stuck in his head was a mystery to Dane, and why he'd gotten out of bed at such an early hour to camp out on the bench outside his workplace baffled him even further.
Numerous people went in and out of the big doors. How long have I been sitting here? Nearly all of them shot Dane a suspicious look, all of which he ignored. He wasn't doing anything illegal. Currently. When the familiar, oddly perfect figure of the officer he'd been waiting for passed through the doors, a part of him felt relief. The other part silenced it. "Looks like I was right." he smirked. "You do live here. Where're you goin'? You need fuel or something? They don't have oil cans in there for ya?"

To all officers,
Good morning. I apologize for taking time away from your work with this. I know how busy you all are, and I applaud the hard work that you all have been putting in over the last day. I have spoken with the Mayor's office, and I have been informed of their decision to bring in a temporary Commissioner from another city. You are treat him with as much respect as you gave the late Commissioner. Regardless, my door is still open to you, whatever you need. I will be at the precinct later on this morning, before the temporary Commissioner arrives. I expect you all to be on your best behavior, especially in these trying times.
Keep up the hard work.
Claude Fitzgerald Assistant Commissioner at Regium PD (206)-990-4009 ext. 390

To all officers at Regium PD,
Good morning. As you all are well aware, tragedy struck us this weekend. Our Commissioner passed away on Sunday afternoon, the victim of an assassination attempt that took place after the Mayor's speech. He was fatally wounded by gunshot, and passed away at the scene. It is with a heavy heart that I send this to you, and I will not waste your time with waxing on about a man that I know you all respected and admired - his accomplishments need not be reiterated here, as his legacy will live on in all of us. I know that he would be exceedingly proud of all of you and how you have handled yourselves this weekend - I most certainly am. Additionally, Officer Max Iver has been injured, and is in the hospital recovering from his wounds. Your thoughts, prayers, and contributions are appreciated.
There is still much work to be done and justice to be served, and I am confident in the abilities of each and every one of you. I am sure that you all are exhausted, physically, mentally, and emotionally - I most certainly am. Regardless, I must call upon you to keep doing your duty to the city and its citizens. Regium needs you at your best now more than ever. The future is uncertain, and while no official decisions have been made, I am now taking charge as Acting Commissioner until things settle down. I will be available to all of you, whatever you need, and any concerns that you have should be brought to me.
Thank you all for your unwavering loyalty, and God bless you all.
Sincerely,
Claude Fitzgerald Acting Commissioner at Regium PD (206)-990-4009 ext. 390

Jessica: Let me know if you're okay.
Jessica: Just any update at all would be much appreciated.
Dane's fingers twisted together restlessly as his eyes darted around the room. So much noise and yet so little interesting sound. A scanner here, a gruff phone call there. The air was thick with the smell of coffee and something slightly burnt -- maybe the coffee. "Is this gonna take long?" he asked the officer whose desk he sat beside. There was no real urgency in his voice. Surely this guy had bigger fish to fry and graffiting and nice new brick wall was hardly a felony. "I've got things to do today, y'know."
