Crossover
I only recently started watching scandal, just because it’s on between Grey’s and htgawm. But I have to say I really liked the first hour of the crossover. I loved Olivia and Annalise together, getting things done (because we know Annalise can’t do t by herself) and the black magic on the screen. Seen Kerry and Viola acting together (yes, the hair dresser scene) actually made me excited. It bothered me that Olivia’s frenemies and the fictional White House were determined to not let the Supreme Court hear the case simply because they do not like her. And Olivia’s motivation was also shaky, as usual. It’s the reality of politics, though.
I also enjoyed the last minutes, the whole veracity of Annalise’s rebuttal. HTGAWM is known for bringing up real issues , whether they are a reflex of our current dreadful state or have been ingrained in our society for centuries, Pete and Shonda do deserve kudos for it. I was touched by it.
But for Christ’s sake, the whole Michaela cheating (can’t say I blame her lol), Coliver scene, Conor wanting credit (can’t say I blame him), Annalise’s Mom being there (crucify me, go ahead) and the whole development of who killed Wes - the one who will never ever, no matter what, not for a goddamn miracle please Jesus come back to let Wes rest six feet under once and for all - were all annoying subplots with far inferior writing. It bored me to death.
The more I watch similar format shows like The Americans and even Suits, the more I realize how they have butchered htgawm. Don’t think I can take it anymore.
