“…he’s dead?” Cosmo questioned. Lareye was hesitant to answer, but he knew he couldn’t hide this from the other god any longer. “Yes, Cosmo. He’s dead.” A couple tears fell down Cosmo’s face, and it shook Lareye a bit. They hadn’t seen him cry like this since.. Etar died. Lareye hesitantly put a hand on Cosmo’s shoulder, unsure of what else to do in this situation. What started as a few tears soon became a stream, then a fountain. Her sobs echoed in Lareye’s ears. She sniffled. “Why didn’t you tell me?” He sounded hurt, and confused. Lareye paused to think about her answer. She realized it sounded a little selfish, but.. “I didn’t want to make you sad. You being happy makes me happy.” Cosmo took in this information, clearly not knowing how to feel about it. “You.. you can’t just hide something like that from me, Lareye!” He snapped. Lareye almost jumped when Cosmo raised their voice. She’s never seen Cosmo get angry before, especially not at her. Cosmo saw Lareye’s expression and started to backtrack a little. “I mean.. I’m glad you want me to be happy.. but.. I just don’t know how you could lie to me like that..” her voice was softer and gentler than before. “I.. I need to go.” Cosmo stood up. “Wait!” Lareye called out, but he was too late. Cosmo had already begun to flap their wings and fly away towards the adjacent moon.
