Be careful who knows your name/who you are. A lesson imparted to him when he first left home by his father who frankly was more motivated to not have the Ables name associated with a common courier, but also because unscrupulous types and raiders might try to ransom him if they knew. As his profile increased during the events of New Vegas, he found it a very important lesson.
Do they like children?
He likes kids fine. With his large family, they were always around. He's just not particularly good with them. Unsure how to talk to them or how to relate on their level so he's often just awkwardly standing there.
Honesty or charity?
As much as he'd like to say honesty, the answer is charity. He made too many calculating decisions in the Mojave that he thought were for the best, but required varying levels of omission and deception.
