Matthew showed up admittedly a bit later than half an hour, it was more like forty-five minutes since he last texted her but he did show up and whether or not he was dressed cute was up for debate, he was just wearing what he had chosen for the day. Matthew would never describe himself as a pinnacle of fashion but he did at least attempt to look good, so used to keeping his appearance maintained for the sake of his employment as a blood donor in which not only his blood was for sale but also his time and thusly his appearance was part of the package, so his facial hair was always trimmed nicely, his hair styled in his usual way, and he was dressed comfortably but moderately stylishly in his black jeans cuffed, black boots that were very well worn for he did wear them almost daily, a grey sweater and a long black utilitarian coat.

He knocked and waited for Thalia to get the door, saying to her once he greeted her, "Cute enough for you?" His hands deep in his pockets as he waited to be let inside.

Each booth might be big enough to hold five vampires, but Helena often preferred to dine alone at Erzsebet's regardless. She valued the peace. But despite that, one of the things she was learning to appreciate most about Opulence was the existence of places like this, places where she didn't have to hide her identity or species from anyone. And meet others like herself. There were a few she could recognise, but she didn't feel like talking to them and so stayed clear, instead wandering toward the bar, taking a space next to a woman she didn't think she'd met before.

"Do you feel anything?" Matthew asked with his lungs filled with smoke, holding in his breath for a few seconds before blowing out a thick cloud. He was reclined on the bed in only his boxer briefs, the rest of his clothes had been discarded and left haphazardly strewn about the floor. "It's kind of weird," when he spoke he felt like his lips were numb, or maybe it was his tongue, but either way something felt light and odd about his facial expressions and the way he was moving, "and maybe it's fucked up to say it, but I kind of like the mist thing. I mean, I get it sucks for you," he wet his lips, "and other supernaturals, but I've never felt better."

He supposed that must be true for all the humans in town but at least for him, he was stronger, faster, didn't get as tired as often, his stamina was better, and he could heal faster which meant he could blood letting a lot more than before. It made him miss his old job. He could have made so much money. All the vampires were extra hungry these days and he would have been able to supply them with blood, probably could have charged double and in their desperation they would have likely paid anything.

Helena had been inconvenienced by the changes brought about by the strange occurrences at Founder’s Day, but she wouldn’t consider herself uncomfortable by appearing more as a vampire than a human. Perhaps she was just more fortunate in that being so old and thus so detached from her human existence, it bothered her less to see herself as she truly was - black eyes, pale skin, fangs clearly visible pressing against her full lower lip even when she closed her mouth. Needing to sleep again, perhaps, was a little more problematic. But most annoying of all was the thirst, the constant hunger that seemed to follow her and yet no matter how many blood donors she burned through, she couldn’t quite satiate it. She’d have spent the week alone at home, if it weren’t for Thalia, drinking and drinking again. But dinner company, even when dinner was going to have to be a long affair, was always appreciated. And spending time with other vampires felt preferable to seeing other creatures freak out. “Are you,” she asked hesitantly, despite the fact that the booth was empty other than them and their blood of choice, “ridiculously hungry, or is it just me? I feel the Founder’s Day mist must have done something to us….”
