All men have their limits. And Thane is dangerously close to his own. Dark has been his dreams of late.
Baden: Whenever I’m mad at Thane, I tighten all the jars in the kitchen so that he has to come to me for help

Baden and Thane ; Steve and Bucky
Every few weeks I remember how similar Baden (AFK Arena) is to Bucky (MCU), and how similar Thane (AFK) is to Steve (MCU), but now that I’ve watched Falcon and Winter Solider, it has become brainrot.
Baden was happy and charismatic and loved by everyone before and while he was in the military, which is when he was killed (when he died to protect someone else). After he died, he was brainwashed and his body was controlled so that he became a weapon for another entity without any control over himself. Despite the lack of control, he still manages to find his way back to his boyfriend (Thane) and try to warn him/help him, even though it shouldn’t be possible.
Sounds pretty damn close to Bucky Barnes. Oh also, Baden and Bucky both have a muzzle/mask that keeps them from speaking which was put on by the person/people controlling them. And one of their arms was replaced (painfully) with something that made them into more of a human weapon.
Thane was uptight and serious and felt that he had to fight everyone around him to prove himself, and to prove that he was capable. Through circumstance, he met Baden, the charismatic and laid-back soldier, and became inseparable. Then Baden died for Thane while they were both in the army, and Thane carries the guilt of that with him now, and still holds out hope that his boyfriend is ok.
Sounds just a bit like Steve. Oh also they both specialize in moving very quickly to disarm their opponents with weapons that are less traditional in the military (though Thane does still have a sword, so he’s not that far off). And they both can’t believe their eyes when they realize their boyfriends are alive, but not themselves anymore. Them seeing their boyfriends is enough to break through brainwashing that shouldn’t be able to be undone.
It is canon that Baden and Thane are together, but I know Steve and Bucky aren’t canon. For the purposes of this, ignore Marvel’s lack of canon queer rep.
tl;dr: Baden Rayne (AFK Arena) = Bucky Barnes (MCU), Thane (AFK Arena) = Steve Rogers (MCU)

It's no secret that Baden and Thane spend their free time sparring even on holidays. But perhaps, as fireworks dance over the city, Baden has something else on his mind.
Something that would look very nice on the ring finger of his beloved castellan...
And there nothing that I wouldn't do to truly be yours. When you touch me I swear it's like heaven - but I'm left at the doors...
Sometimes Thane thinks Brutus should have taken his life. That the world would be a much happier and brighter place if Baden had survived and not him...
Only sometimes. Because most of the time, Thane just misses him dearly - and only hangs on because he thinks he won't be able to meet Baden on the other side if he just ends it. Oh no, Baden would not forgive him if he left Estrilda alone in the whole wide world, that's for sure - that's what he thinks.
But tonight, Thane just lets himself mourn - and hopes never to forget his face.
Usually, Thane is very good at holding himself together.
However, sometimes, especially after a particularly long and hard day, all he really want is to come and lie on his beloved's knees in order to doze off and get lost from this world for several hours. To have a nice little nap, to put it simply. Thane was so tired today that he didn't even notice that Baden was actually reading...
Luckily for him, Baden doesn't mind. The book wasn't that interesting, anyway.
Thane: What are the symptoms of teenage depression?
Baden: Why are you asking me?
Thane: Estrilda was doing laundry earlier, and after she dropped a sock, I heard her say, "Why has Dura forsaken me?"
