“The Thane of Cawdor lives. Why do you dress me in borrowed robes?” (I.III.107-108) What seemed to be fiction has proven to be fact. I have just been named Thane of Cawdor; meaning the second prophecy has come true. But the real question lies not with whether the witches prophecies are true or not; it is whether they bring good, or evil. For if they bring evil, why does my new title feel so proper? And if they bring good — why has my mind been plagued with thoughts I dare not speak of?
